Part of the problem in football is understanding that winning a game doesn't mean doing the same thing will always win you the game. While we have indeed won the last two games 100% of our big chances to score have not come from open play. We have James who has been one of the best open play chance creators in the league this year, and he needs to go back in to fix this problem when he is healthy. At some point we are going to need to have the element in our play.

Yeah no getting away from it macca, Siggurdsson has been decent the last couple of games, his set pieces are still crap though, apart from the one good corner he put in tonight when Holgate scored.

The weird thing was Lou they were same crap balls as against Chelsea but we looked more aggressive tonight. Though a couple of balls were peaches so fair play.

James should be starting any game he is fit, no question.
until we have an actual quality squad where he can be rested to be replaced by somebody who is at least 50% the player he is we have to use him when fit. He is first name on the team sheet every time and then work out the full team and tactics from there
Sigurdsson puts a bit of effort in for 2 games and plays ok and people want him to keep his place over an actual footballer. Mind bogglingly silly

No it's not great because it is a completely insane debate.
I'd get it if we had gone out and smashed two teams off the park but our attacking play was pretty meh in both games. We scored once from a penalty, once from a corner and once from open play. And even then the open play one was a goalkeeping error. As was the PK. So to suggest we should leave out our best creator on the evidence of these two games is insane.
