so what next?

I never said his job was scoring goals, i simply listed his contribution to the season. So what if he's been linked with Real Madrid ?! That doesn't qualify you as a world class player, every player who has a decent run of games gets linked with Real Madrid for gods sake, all that means is a journalist had a space to fill in his "transfer gossip" column. Like i said, Fellaini is a good player, but to say he's essential to this team when we've played our most effective Football without him, it just makes no sense. And £30m + for two players, with 3 or 4 players coming in for £8-10m each. Smart business sense to me, it'll improve the team and freshen us up, which is what we are crying out for.

wake up there, we have to pay the banks FIRST, ffs.

I should also add that if anybody wants to place accolades for our recent performances it should be on players who would feature regardless of Fellaini's inclusion or not.

Baines has been crucial for the team this season, as has Distin who despite a few mistakes (understandable after playing in every match) has put in some fantastic performances. Neville has upped his game and Hibbert has been dependable as ever. The removal of Fellaini from the squad has not led to the inclusion of a player who has shone in his usual position.

It would be like saying we should sell Saha because we've done better without him, despite the fact that our wins have not been a direct result of the players who have taken over his position (Beckford, Anichebe).

We've done well because the whole team in general has stepped up, not because Fellaini is some detriment.

I never said Fellaini was detrimental, in any way. I simply said his market value is disproportionate to his value to the team. And for that reason he should be sold, same goes for Rodwell. I would like to keep Baines, but i expect he will go in the next 12 months anyway, and if we sell him now, he's at his peak market value, we'll get more for him now, after arguably his best season in a Blue shirt, than if we were to sell him next summer when he might be more eager to leave.

Its my belief that for £30m+, both Rodwell and Fellaini are replaceable, with money left over for perhaps a few more. As for Baines, i think £15m or so would be enough to get a decent, reliable left back, perhaps not as good as Leighton, but still with some left over for to improve another position in the squad. I mean would you really be THAT arsed if we sold Fellaini, if it funded moves for the likes of Jarvis, Long and Donovan ?. Thats what i'm talking about.

Yeah, i gathered numbnuts, thats why i pointed to the money from the likes of Yobo and Yakubu, who haven't really been involved in first-team affairs, so it wouldn't impact massively on the team, while also servicing the clubs financial obligations.

so my point is correct? we are happy to sell quality and buy lesser players, but its ok because bill stood in the boys pen? well if thats good enough for you.....................

No I'm saying it's the situation we are in and we need to manage it best we can. I don't know the solution, short of winning the euromillions, but I suspect that attacking Bill in the same way liverpool fans did H+G won't quicken the sale of the club.

why? do you think protesting is counter productive?

For me, whoever the powers might be (governmental, political, a sporting aspect). A legitimate protest, the bigger the better (peaceful in nature), will always produce a reaction of complete alarm.

As it stands, our powers that be, at EFC, know there are certain Evertonian alarm bells ringing but only with the noise of a schoolyard bell. The reality is, our owner should be listening to something akin to a World War air-raid siren.

Just to mention, look at the teams who are looking soft to go down, West Ham, Blackburn, Brum - now think how long ago since they were taken over.

All that glitters.

Indeed, but they've not seen a great deal of investment in the team.

And no, i don't see protesting as Counter productive, per se. Just not exactly, productive, in this situation. While we do want a change of ownership to see more investment and less debt going onto the club, as Neiler said we have to be careful not to jump out of the frying pan and into the fire on this one.

Its not just about selling, its about finding the right buyer.

If Brum go down they'll be in financial Armageddon.

As you and me have said lid ....

but if we are not up for sale, how can we find the right buyer?
and can you honestly, after every botched deal and ground move, trust BK and this board with such a decision?

I have faith that 100% of transfer sales will be reinvested in the squad, and that we'll finish top half again next season, and the season after, and so on into eternity.

But if the board decide to pocket even half the money from player sales, we will barely scrape past a relegation battle.
