I try for both, you only seem to do the latter. It is possible to say that we were lucky city didn't punish us further and that we were thoroughly excellent second half. Both are true.

Its no different to the whole "its on" business after we won a few games earlier in the season. Once you get over the joy of a great win we're still 7th when it could of been better, we still got dumped out of the cup by Reading and Brentford, we still have no money and are still going to sell players in the summer.

Its looking at the whole picture all the time.

Like i said, great win today and comeback from the guys, must of disturbed my neighbours 2 miles away when Ossie scored but in the course of the season its a pretty nothing 3 points other than secruing 7th.

And considering we went into the season looking to secure 4th or at least Europe its hard to get all excited by it.

That doesn'tr mean I, or Davek or anyone hates Everton and wanted them to lose, that kind of comment is just ridiculous. Its wanting the best for the club at all times, not just in 1 game.

It was a good win. I've said it a number of times. For me it's only a win against City with nothing at stake. Of course if you come from behind to win after being on the ropes it feels significant.

I completely agree, but that's the thing -- let the joy last for longer than 3 seconds. For tonight we should be happy. Yes, long term, things are still dour. But come on, if you can't enjoy coming from behind to beat city, then why bother following Everton?

Almost certain that we'll finish 7th now, which is actually an improvement of one position on last year. We didn't have any notable cup runs (though knocking Chelsea out on pens was glorious), but neither did we last year. We did have some european trips to get excited about though.

In terms of points though we finished on 61 last year, while this year we are certain to finish on 51-57 (I'd say 54, if I were a betting man).

So we've just about stood still I suppose? Or do we consider this a step backwards? Will a front two of Odemwingie and Klose next season be enough to have us competitive for a european spot again?

I think you shouldn't be criticizing Davek for having the courage to give unpopular opinions...from what I understand.

Fair play to the team and Moyes, I went mental at the team selection but Vic proved he COULD have a future with us, Moyes made exactly the right subs at the right time and we won thanks to a combination of change in tactics and desire. Of course City could have been out of sight by half time but the facts are they were not and by the end we could have beaten them 3-1.

What I REALLY hope Moyes does now is actually finally learns that negative teams don't win games consistently. Without wanting to put a dampener on things though, I doubt he will.

And of course the win means bugger all in the grand scheme of things and no it doesn't change the fact that long term we need all sorts of change. However, if you can't enjoy days like today what is the point of it all! COYB
