It is all doom and gloom. We had a chance to do something really good this year and are blowing it as soon as we can. Absolute bottle jobs.

We will come somewhere from 7 to 10th place like most years. We are the most boring predictable club in English football. We are never that bad but never any good either. This was the chance but we got the recruitment wrong, predictably got injuries, and then the repeat offenders turned up to ruin our momentum. Its same old same old rubbish.

We've got nothing good going on in life right now and they serve up that rubbish. What is the point? I'd be so much happier if we didn't exist but there's just no way of turning everton off.

Delph looked class today.

Olsen looks promising.

Micheal Kean is steady

Iwobi did more in 20 minutes today than 45 last week.

Newcastle showed us a lot of respect by upping their game to contain us. They were well organised. But Ultimately they couldn’t contain that element of self doubt when we came at them in extra time
It’s just a shame we left it so late.

Perhaps the team selection was a little dubious, but Carlo will have had his reasons. Kenny and Gordon sharing a pitch for instance, was probably a step too far. He was right in that regard.

And of course, that penalty was never such, hence the protracted amount of time for a decision to be reached. The VAR team had to be seen to support their colleague on the pitch.

Even with so much talent missing, I feel he can still get a tune out of them.

Don’t write us off just yet.

?!?!?!? He was shocking

The side he’s picked has been dictated by injuries and suspensions.

If you don’t want Ancelotti you are in a massive minority and read like a WUM.

I don’t think I said I didn’t want him, if I did then I was venting

I’m saying questions need to be asked, he’s not untouchable, getting schooled by Steve Bruce is embarrassing, if not for Olson it could have been 4 - 1

Lost me at ‘Delph looked class’

Brands needs to go ASAP. Having Carlo answer to someone who knows far less than him about football is bonkers.

Brands signings have held us back. Lots of rubbish ineffective technical players with no guts to play Premier league football.

The players make me angry. They aren't everton players.

I'm not sure the Carlo having to answer thing is strictly true, tbf. They work together.

Brands seems to have set a decent system in place but he takes far too many risks with leaving deals to be done.

Carlo isn't a manager who gets involved with negotiations etc so we need some form of transfer head, but Brands hasn't really earned a new deal.

There's been good and bad from him.

Digne, Richarlison have been mega signings. But there's been a lot of duds too - or players simply without the mental resolve required to play in the PL.

All that has to be factored in with the fact he's had to pay for the mistakes of Walsh, but that's no excuse for negligence in certain areas of the squad.

Hugely disappointing and deflating that it only takes a couple of players being out for us to start looking so poor.

Where's the man management? this 'good spirit' in the squad that we keep hearing about?

We'll get smashed by United next week, completely undoing our good start to the season.

Should we yeah?

An Everton team, missing 5 key players in Richarlison, Rodriguez, Digne, Coleman and Holgate should be going away to Newcastle and beating them.

An Everton team, with Niels making his debut, Kenny thrown in without match fitness - Delph, Gomes, Sigurdsson and co should be going away and beating Newcastle.

An Everton team, when chasing a game, who have to turn to Iwobi, Bernard and Tosun, should be beating Newcastle.

Interesting.

We've come a long way if that's the case.

Ancelotti took a pragmatic view - most were doom and gloom beforehand and rightly so.

We had more of the ball, we had more shots and if soft arse Gomes didn't put in one of his spaced off his tits games and do his off the ball liability act we'd have been right in that and took a point or maybe even nicked it late on.
Gomes is so frustratingly inconsistant and the difference between his good and bad form is incredibly extreme. So silky smooth and precise when he's on his game he looks top class. Yet when he's off form, he looks lost on the pitch and is continually misdirecting, underhitting or overhitting passes. Doesn't have pace or battling attitude to compensate either.

I just don’t know what people expected when we started Sigurdsson and Gomes together alongside DCL. The tactics against Newcastle were an absolute disgrace and we have just dropped 3 points against a very poor team. We are not ready to challenge for top 4 until the likes of Iwobi Sigurdsson and Gomes are gone from the club.
