Actually think we can nick this despite the missing quality. Won’t be a pretty game just think we might scrape it, keep it tight and hopefully be a danger from set pieces.

There is a big difference between having a small time mentality and been realistic and knowing that having an away game in the league missing 5 key players, 3 who are our most creative attacking wise will not be a easy win where we smash the opposition.
We can win. But it will be hard given the players missing. That's logical I would have thought

If crowds were allowed in, I reckon the match would be pulled on safety grounds. Forecast for winds around 60mph+

So our starting XI might be something like :

Pickford
Godfrey Mina Keane Nkounkou
Allan Doucoure Gomes
Iwobi DCL Bernard
That leaves our bench as:
Olssen, Kenny, Delph, Davies, Siggurdsson, Gordon and who?

Simms? Branthwaite? Hell, I'd even put a case for bloody Bolasie on there. I don't know if kenny, holgate or branthwaite are fit enough yet, presume cenk isn't either. Seeing as our squad is so bloated, how does it look so small?

Our manager was very clear that he is interested in trophies and playing in Europe so if those lads which they gonna be ask again to step up tomorrow and have a chance to show that they deserve opportunity again doesn’t perform or they perform like last week it’s pretty clear that our max target for this season will be 7th spot and EL qualifying
if we are seeking for anything more then that we should not have a problem to win matches vs teams like Newcastle even away
I am just afraid that Sigy, Iwobi, Bernard, Gomes , David dont have that
i will be very happy with draw tomorrow

If Ancellotti tells Nkounkou to stay back for most of this game we may as well not bother. Can’t see anything good coming from our right hand side with Kenny and Iwobi (who I imagine will play there).
Yes, reckon the L and R back issues are key to setting up the side for this match.
I'd have Delph as LCM next to Niels. Delph and Keane are a solid enough foundation for the lad to go and play his game.

Would have Godfrey in at LCB. He's got more pace than Mina and could be a superstar.
Godfrey and Kenny, with Alan and Sig up the right.

DCL
Bernard, Sig
Delph, Doucoure, Alan
Niels, Kean, Godfrey, Kenny.

Gordon for Siggurdson and you’re in business there

Getting Niels in space on the left (with Bernard scrapping closer to Dom) would be good
but only if we get decent play up the right and only if there are the players to switch the ball across to Niels.
For all of Sigs faults, he, and Alan are the ones who can get the balls across. Two doing the work of James, basically.

Doucoure in the centre is the weakness here.

Really?

I mean, Sigurdsson's crap at long passing, in all honesty. He's played one decent one that I can remember and that was in the WBA game to Digne.

Without Richarlison we need a player to join in from deep and that has to be Doucoure, because none of our other midfielders do it or are as capable as him as doing it.

Get him played a bit further forward for this one and running onto stuff.

If that means playing Delph to sure things up down the left-hand side, so be it, though I imagine he'll just turn back to the midfield that has won every game but one that they've played together in this season.

I do see Sig playing, but that's just down to our severe lack of options in the forward areas.

I believe in the lads

But @Saint Domingo pointed out, this is the PL. No matter how cual the other side is, it is not easy to get results when missing 5 players. 3 of them being your top players.

But I believe the back 4 will be at is best knowing the situation and we will score 1 by DCL to win it.

We will not start Godfrey at RB or both of Iwobi and Bernard mate

Think we're struggling to have much choice tbh. I'd like to see gordon, but would he play him with Nkounkou making his debut/Godfrey making his second start?

Kenny has been out for a while are we just going to chuck him straight in? Even he's barely started many prem games.

Like i said, our options are a bit bleak

Doucoure's weakness, as in marshalling the centre defensively. Gomes the same.
Ideally you have Alan there but Doucoure can't do the job needed on the right, as in to continue to play the game, with some semblance as to the way they've been playing, the way they've been winning games.

Sure, the side has to move on from Sig playing in the midfield three. Its just hasn't happened.
But given the injuries and suspension he can still be a weapon.
Cutting back on to his left foot and either crossing or shooting is when he's most dangerous.

Who would you rather crossing the ball to Niels or DCL - Sig, Iwobi, or Gordon?
