Wouldn't ever wish injury on a player, especially a long term one.

However, VVD easily could/should have had 2 yellows by that point and not have been on the pitch. He is happy to give snide challenges out all day long. He had a challenge like that coming with the amount he puts on on people. Its just unfortunate he got injured. He should have been off, but then so should pickford, as should richie, mane and robertson.

Jesus wept.... why don't we all go RAWK and beg for Pickford's forgiveness instead.... I'am not asking for players to be injured but these things happen in Football, but now I see we're asking for our own players to be banned?? Absolutely outrageous scenes, almost appeasing Liverpool FC now are we?

No. Just be better people than they are. We win regardless then by having the moral high ground always. Not appeasing them by any means. ALL pundits are in agreement how bad a challenge it was to a man, red or blue.

Known friend of the blues, John Aldridge is foaming at the mouth about Pickford and Richy this morning I see. Demanding a three match ban for both of them. We are getting under their skin the longer we stay above them.

Reckon some need to go back to croquet and cucumber bread bites at the interval the 'slumming' just got too real.

If you think about that for a second it's perfect though. We get a way of trying Olsen without dropping Pickford.

If he can't cope then Pickford can come back without the shame and dented confidence. If Olsen does well then we can say can't switch back as he deserves to continue. I don't think he will get a ban retrospectively so it's moot but if it happens I'm not going to cry.

We conduct ourselves as a club completely different way to them which is why this is argument is daft....It was accidental,it wasn't intentional. Don't understand why we as fans have to apologized? Pickford has done it himself, but seeing our fans asking for our player to be banned is utter garbage.

Listen I want Pickford gone myself but this bending the knee to Liverpool crap has to stop.

Even though there were some top class saves yesterday there were also calamitous moments including one which most keepers would have saved but thankfully VAR saved us and another where we could have been down to 10 men with almost a full game to go. Just cannot have these sort of performances and expect to challenge the top positions. Got away with it yesterday but that wont be the case for the whole season.

Might have to give Olsen a go tbh. He might be up for it and want to impress in this league under Carlo. I would be happy if we could just get some goal keeping consistency. Not going to know until we give him a go and there isn't much to lose by trying him out.

0 points he has cost us this season 0. How many points has He helped wus this season ? 1 today and 3 against spurs
The criticism

if your got a ban for writing this it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world....
How many goals has he cost us this season though? He's a poor keeper and his teammates keep bailing out. He can make excellent saves but if we're honest he was lucky not to be sent off after 5 minutes yesterday. I don't think we'd miss him.

I don't think many have indicated that we should be all apologetic about it though have they?

It's probably right that both players publicly apologised but to the rest of us their meltdown is funny because they didn't get all the decisions. As people have already said the Pickford foul happened after the whistle had gone and it wasn't full of intent to hurt a player (punch/lunge after the ball has gone) so from that aspect it's not a red card. The offside was offside so they need to speak to the people who create the rules to get something changed. The only clear and obviously missed decision is that Mane shouldn't have been on the pitch at that point to assist in that move. We have the legitimate claim to say why didn't VAR pick it up as with that decision we may have been a able to break our derby hoodoo.

I seen someone on here saying he deserves a ban...Pickford closed him down, made himself big and did his friggin job for a change ha. The VAR one Is interesting,I'd say it was onside but as I've said to Kopites rules are the rules and they have to live with it.

Are crying and want the pl to ‘review’ the rules and the league structure itself.

Any RS day anything about it to me ,I am going to say get him banned you will be doing us a favour.
just to get under there skins.
He will not get banned anyway as the incident was looked at by var at the time, under the rules as they stand it isn't a sending off,
I actually think it should have been as it was a bad tackle, but I am not making the rules, they are the same for us as them at kick off they can't want them changed to suit there own agenda.
