ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Which is how it should be. If you have 13 pro's who are fit, you can fulfil the fixture. If not, at this stage it will be a forfeit. I find it highly doubtful, given Liverpool have have 80 ish pro's on the books that they cannot fulfil the fixture. They may not want too, but thats a different story.

My understanding is at the less than 13 point, it will not be a forfeit, it will be postponement. Presumably there is some sort if independent verification of the testing.

I don't think you can falsify tests. It would probably be a criminal case.

I have not seen anything to suggest a postponement, the only precadent I have seen this far is a forfeit. Either way, given Liverpool have probably 80 professionals on their books it will not be an issue. They will be able to get a squad out. If they chose they don't want too, then it's up to them, but Id imagine a forfeit and a potential point deduction would follow.

I have to say, having an international break, with friendlies seems absolutely absurd in the context we are in. Truly stupid.

The South American games are competitive. Thats the problem; instead of postponing their "Euros", they are playing. In Brazil, club matches are having matchday squads of 40 players cos the virus is out of control. Crowds in the stadiums as well.

No idea what its like in Columbia, but unless they have improved things in Brazil, it will be a stroke of luck if neither Allan or Richie cop it.

edit. Actually, both have knocks come to think of it.

Im a fan of international football but its ludicrous to be playing these games. They could have, should have imo, cancelled/postponed these games until domestic football is back without the concerns of the virus.

I mean, I'll be very surprised if more Liverpool players don;t have it, and it's released on a drip drip basis. They will spread it to other players at international duty.

I'd be very surprised if there is a team without cases. There should be a clear guide on what happens if this occurs as it is quite predictable an event. @number4 's response indicates this is the case. I presume that this season will end with many cancellations/ point awardings that this will be more of an asterisk than the last one which essentially saw rule changes midway to guarantee the ending of the season - it would have been far better to award Liverpool the title and fudge the euro allocations and relegations than try and shoehorn the football in, in a compromised fashion. So far this season at least, all games have been played behind closed doors with a standard set of rules.

Mmm Klopp on MOTD ‘ Villa were physical, direct and smart’ so basically yard dog, route one cheats then, gracious as ever

None of their goals were direct, they just ran straight through them. Except the set play goal, which well, was one of the worst bits of Premier league defending I've ever seen.

Losing 6-2 to Villa in 1990 (?) still haunts me to this day...the fun that was made of me at school....whatever happens from now on they won’t ever forget this humiliation and everyone laughing at them. So ironic is it was villa....and 7-2!
Ollie watkins is the new David Platt

Hope you're not still in school mate lol

Agreed but the rule is black and white (or at least as clear as it can be in such a fluid situation.

25 players in your squad. If 13 or more test negative for covid game is played, bring in the YT etc to cover the rest. If you have 12 or less available due to covid, game postponed (not forfeited)

Either way, I think its a moot point, if a club is in that level of corona football wont be getting played

Makes you wonder how widespread the virus is at the cesspool

Would they lie or avoid testing players to get them on the pitch?

there is independent verification and tracking, I don't think the clubs are analysing the results. While it's less dramatic, he probably got a false negative before the positive
