the derby is 3 points, Brighton is 3 points.

it needs to be treated as such; yes we all want to win it, but it's the illogical pressure placed on two games a season by fans, journalists and within the club that has created this proverbial cross we have to bear. Treated like a normal game and the improvement and wins will come

Especially since the likelyhood of getting 3 points is much greater vs Brighton.

You don't throw away a winnable game to focus in a harder game when they are both worth 3 points.

As a matter of fact, we don't yet have the roster to look ahead at other games. We take it one game at a time.

Evertonians "*cry* we haven't won anything in 25 years"

Evertonians "why is he playing a full strength side"?

Bizarre train of thought from some fans.
For someone who was born a few months after our last cup, this is one of the most exciting periods I’ve had as a Blue. I’ve seen us beat the RS but I don’t dream about it like I dream for a cup and am thrilled we have a manager who does the same. We have a team that can do it, Allan is huge to that. UTFT

Bullet dodged. For future reference, Allan is a guy that we need to watch out for with these wear and tear injuries. It’s one thing if it was a freak incident. You don’t like to see players pull up like that. Those million Mirallas hammy injuries killed me. I don’t want Allan to end up like that.

He needs managed for sure. Maybe leave him out of cup games now that we know Delph can do a job in there if needed.

Not only this, but we are good enough now that we don't need to sweat over every knock. Obviously we don't want any injuries, ever. But good sides overcome these. And increasingly, we are becoming that. Just look at how our summer signings, plus Don Carlo, have totally transformed Iceland, Delph and Iwobi. They can step in and do a job when needed. The rest of the team won't stand for anything less than their best.
