This half shows why you need something other than penalties for close handballs. My vote is indirect free kicks. Obviously the controversy will just shift to what is a pen and what is indirect but I think it'll be an easier call overall.

It will never happen but I agree. Too much all or nothing with those penalties - there needs to be a middle ground.

Everton should ask if they can put a big ventilator in goal instead of Pickford. The clowns movement with his arms , a good ventilator would be better!

I thought both penalty decisions were correct although I think certain teams would have been given a pen for the first.

Tyldesley and McCoist were a disgrace on both those penalty decisions. The first was borderline and could have gone our way, the second a stonewall pen, but they called them both no pens as if it wasn't a decision to make.

But then how do you determine what's a free kick hand ball and what's a penalty handball - deliberate?

I don't necessarily disagree, but my problem is the rules are quite clear as they stand as to what hand ball constitutes, and you have idiot commentators completely unaware of the rules and dictating the conversation about an ongoing game with their nonsense.
