Interesting that it was a 4231 on the weekend with Gomes allowed further forward in the sort of 10 role but also coming back to do midfield duties.

I thought Gomes was very good on the weekend and would keep the same team overall.

I think it would be interesting to see Sigurdsson in that 10 role there, maybe 20 mins or so if we are up. Now that I prefer James on the right hand side, Sig would be really good with James feeding him. Sig had to do too much of the creative work previously, and now he can get in position and have someone feeding him. Great striker of the ball.

Is that how you saw it? I thought it was just a 4-3-3 on a slant myself.

Looking forward to this match today. Not very often over the past while that I have said that. Interested to see how we will cope with a team sitting back looking for a 0 - 0. Given the talent and variety we now have I am expecting us to be getting in behind the fullbacks, I am expecting through balls and I am expecting players to carry the ball forward, basically total football. 3 - 0 is my prediction.

Yeh I just mean this is the kinda game standard Everton would somehow lose.
Aye, I totally agree as we've fluctuated for a few seasons now with no real sense of consistency bar small patches here and there - end of Silva' first season.

A win is the most important thing as it'd be great to build up consistency and momentum. For the fans however, a solid win would really boost quiet optimism.

Thought Gomes started really well but then faded. Gordon for me on the left side after his midweek display. But think carlo will go for the same team to start with
