So they didn't have the money to sign Watkins from Brentford – ended up being 28m, probs 60k a week – but they're bending over backwards to pay Bale 300k a week?

All from the Athletic this, where there is no mention of an Alli makeweight
No, Madrid don't want him, this just seems to have sprung up because him and Jose don't get on.

DCL or Keane with Richarlison are better than Kane and Son???
It's good that we are all freely allowed to have an opinion and not locked up in a psychiatric institution for airing them :p
In terms of ability, I’d rank them as follows

Son
Kane
Richarlison
DCL
Kean

Many others would put Kane over Son, but I think you could put Son in any team in the world and he’d instantly fit in and improve it. Fabulous all round player.. creative, goal threat, and terrific work rate. Attacks generally go through him. He should have a bucket load of medals in his cabinet. While a prolific goalscorer, Kane is too singular in his approach. One season he was PL top goalscorer, and he had one assist. The moment that sums him up as a player was vs Croatia in the WC semi...a simple pass to Sterling for a tap in two yards out to make it 2-0 and England all but in the final, instead Kane in a much tighter angle goes for goal and it’s saved. Claiming the Eriksen free kick as his goal (“swear on my daughters life”) is another example of the single minded, tunnel vision focus on himself. Factor in injury issues, ankle especially, as there are question marks over Kane.

Richarlison has yet to hit the world class level of the two above. Sporadic moments of quality, then goes quiet. DCL is decent, but his numbers don’t suggest he will ever be top class. His hold up play is better than his finishing. Kean its far too early to say.

Son - Kane - Bale

Fitness permitting, talent wise that’s as good as any three in world football. Mourinho being in charge dampens the excitement though.

I watched the first 3 episodes last night. I thought the highlight of the 3 so far was Ali asking the physio does he put water on his toothbrush before the toothpaste or after the toothpaste.

It was riveting stuff and I'll be sure to watch episode 4 after the Everton game tonight.
Oh, it gets even better. The Nobel Prize winning minds at Spurs discuss their three favourite chocolate bars in a later episode

On current form, DCL and Richy. Kane looked knackered to me, and aint getting much respite. Son faded quite alarmingly, for one famed for fitness and work ethic.

But one game, swallows and summers and all that.

On reputation and what they have done, Kane is miles ahead of all of them. Son, however good a player I think he is record is very similar to Richarlinson (scored 11-14 league goals a season). Richarlinson slightly better, but playing in a poorer team he probably just gets the nod. DCL at a similarish level too though different type of player.

However Kane and Son are 27/28 and Kane in particular looks an "old" 27 to me with the injuries he's had. DCL/Richarlinson 23. It will be interesting who gets more league goals this season, I think it will be very close. I think over the next 2-3 years our 2 would be better to have.

He's a class player if they can get him right. Thats the if. Very similar to the James discussion really.

As we've seen with James though class is permanent, it's just injuries being the concern. But if they are looked after and used right then it shouldn't be that big a deal. Gbamin's age and injury record suggested nothing like what happened was going to, so there's no guarantees.

Just these type of players being on the pitch frees up others.

Dele “Einstein” Alli is at the forefront

He doesn't come across as a "thinking" type of person does he mate lol

I'd hate Everton to do one of these judging by what I've seen in the first few episodes.

Jose the special one with a magical team talk of

"it's half time, the game isn't won"
"2-0 is a dangerous scoreline in England"
"lets play and be happy"

I'm sure Michael Owen is at home watching it thinking "I've said that, I can do that"

How do know they didn't have £28million for the Brentford striker?
Perhaps £60k a week but could have been more?
Perhaps they thought a player at that price who has never played in the premier league was a risk they they didn't want to take?
Perhaps the the reason they didn't want the Brentford striker was because they were in talks with Gareth Bale?
Perhaps they thought that Bale is less of a risk?
Who knows how much Bale is on but I read Spurs will be paying a 1/3 of the wages?
Who knows eh and like you're often prone to do, it's all guesswork ;).

P.S.
I still like your profile picture, a good player you have there.

It literally says Spurs didn’t have the money you strange head patter

I do hope they get Bale. He will be dreadful.
I’d question what’s he got left in the tank at 31? and also can they keep him fit enough to play every week in the PL?

On loan for 12 months with no fee and only paying half his wages, he’s maybe a gamble worth taking, but his agent is a ball breaker and I don’t think a 12 month loan is going to be enough to get his signature tbh.
