Lies again spread.
No, Spurs didn't furlough staff.
Just like Everton did at around the same time, Spurs also got a loan, the amount was £175 million which the Bank of England.
It was to help with the loss of stadium revenue and to help with turnover.

It amuses me that on here people use the fact the loan was direct from the Bank of England and at a low rate of 0.5% as areas on to slag them off or they are disappointed that Spurs didn't takeout a Mortgage Loan at a higher rate of interest with Metro Bank like Everton did lol ?
Are you sure Spurs did not furlough staff and then reverse the decision due to public outcry ??

I'd like to see how Bernard performs with the new quality we have in midfield. I've always thought he struggled with not having people of similar quality around him.
But apart from that I'd be happy with the above.

If only life was that easy though. We'd be lucky if Palace took one of our deadweights off our hands. To take 4 is a pipedream sadly.
I’m not a fan of Bernard and do t see a future, hopefully we can ship him out and get his wage bill of the books
Lightweight, and not great end product, poor goal scoring record.

Don’t think he’s made for our league

LOL, they got widely criticised as the first club to announce it would be fuloughing it's staff. They had to bow to public pressure in the end.

If reports about us being open to selling Kean are true I suspect there is something going on behind the scenes. Most likely he hasn’t settled in the U.K. and wants to go home to Italy.

In home games I could see him playing on the right with James in a more central role. Would expect the team against Spurs for most big games.
I agree which is why I'd like to bring in a specialised wide striker for that role. Zaha is one option, but the likes of Unger, Lozano, Bailey, Lemar have all been linked too and may be more attainable or even loaned.

Would have rather signed Grealish than Zaha tbh.

I'm chucking in Iwobe for good messure

I presume this thread is now just a placeholder in the event we actually exhibit any interest in the player.
The lack of evidence strongly suggests we currently have none.

Best you learn to read properly or maybe even better still. don't think?

Anyway i only came back into this thread to dispell the above lie about Spurs so I'm not going to derail this thread and if any of you wanna continue, take it to the Spurs thread and I will eventually get around to putting you all right on there as well ;)

I don't think many people care tbh even if you do consider yourself the official spokesperson for Spurs financial matters. Only thing that matters is that we tonked you at home and it was extremely enjoying and satisfying.

Perhaps we should now get back to talking about Zaha and Everton you know with this being a Zaha thread on an Everton forum and all that. ;)

Lozano is one that might have a ring of truth to it since he’s worked with Brands and Ancelotti. I think Zaha’s wages mean we’d have to ship out a few high earners to balance the books. The club still has to at least pay lip service to FFP and compliance no matter what level of backing we have.

Yeah. he's a good player who's stock is on the rise and will probably cost more than Zaha tbh. He's probably now as key to Villa as Zaha is to Palace. Just my preference but I'd prefer to go for a Zaha type player, direct and blistering pace. I think that's what we have missing from our squad. Grealish is more of a creator. I'm not saying Zaha by the way, I think it's more likely we go after the likes of Lozano or Under, both excellent players.

I was thinking of adding Iwobi to the list too, but similar to Bernard, part of me wants to see what he could do with quality players around him. We were a bit of a car crash at times last season so it's hardly surprising he failed to shine. Having said that, now may be the best time to sell him when he still has a bot of stock from his arsenal days.

Problem is Grealish has just signed a new contract so would cost loads. Not sure I want Zaha here either.

I personally think any idea if a player performing better with better quality around them is a fallacy. As a supposedly good player, you should be able to perform or performances should stand out compared to the rest of the lesser players so to speak. I just don't think Bernard can cut the mustard.
