Spurs

Their hearts not being in it could be true but I think it's just that Spurs have a fair few players not anywhere near Kane's standard.
I've said for a couple of years now, a player of he's standard should leave for a better club and not many Spurs fans will have the hump with him when he does.

I'd be a bit concerned with his ankle injuries in recent years too. He's still a top level finisher, but his mobility doesn't look as good to me and he struggles with the pace of the game at times. He'd obviously improve City, United or Big Red etc, but maybe not by enough for them to pay the 80 or 90m Spurs would expect.

He was pretty good at the World Cup in Russia. Since then he's been extremely poor and it's hard to work out.

Honestly, I thought he was England’s worst player at that tournament. Was definitely playing in a position that didn’t suit him, but he was still exceptionally poor. It’s no wonder he hasn’t been seen for the national team since.

Wouldn't it be better to make a few headline signatures to give them hope that you as a club want to reach the highest level again? If you get hundreds of millions for them then you could use that money to build a whole new team I suppose but ideally you want to build around the star players you have already got.

Hello Tim. We all have different opinions but I think the reason is simply that the players behind him are simply not good enough to be able to give him the ball enough. Sunday's game was yet another example of that. No service at all.

Just look at my many previous posts about my dislike for Levy and there's your answer.
A couple of years ago we had the chance to join the top clubs but Levy again decided not to spend and he is happy to just tread water. Spurs are going nowhere.

Yeah the Spurs midfield didn't help him either. He was very tired in the second half too but that can be put down to week 1 and a lack of preseason. If Spurs keep him fit he will still score an awful lot of goals, but his injuries would be a concern for me too.

Oh and I think your comment of Spurs wanting £80-£90 million for him is well low.
If he goes it will be for a lot more than £100million (IMO.)

It is nothing new for both our clubs with the yo yo nature. It's probably a bit harder to take for you guys as you established yourself as a CL club and had a good decade and could have kept refreshing when the pull was there from being a CL finalist. What I would say is we were in despair 3 weeks ago so it can turn around fast. Not that I'm saying we will go on to be brilliant but we are 80% better than what we were whatever happens and that is a fairly big uplift for just 3 players.

Levy is not stupid, the income and the prestige is reliant on having a decent team on the pitch. It's just the balancing act required if funds are short, in that aspect Jose may not have been the best person for the job seeing he is a chequebook manager. Levy isn't going to sit around and accept midtable, before this purple patch the fans weren't impressed but he still delivered by luck or not, why can't he do that again seeing the starting position is better?

Spurs went from buying utter top draw players like lloris, alderweireld, vertonghan, modric, vdv, bale to taking punts on big fees hoping they would produce. I don't really understand why they changed their strategy.

If you think of the spine they've bought in sanchez, Ndombele and lo celso that's £150m worth of gambles that have flopped. Their midfield has gone the opposite way of ours where they had pace and power in dembele and wanyana to technically ok, but ultimately sluggishly midfielders like hjojberg and winks.

That's the crux of their lack of creativity.

At the current moment I don't see that as a realistic price, so I don't think he will leave Spurs as he doesn't seem the type to force the issue. How long is the contract that he is on? That will probably be the biggest determinant of his price if a club wanted him.

Chelsea have just paid £72 million for an attacking not yet proven in the premier league midfielder and if you think Kane's price will only be be about £10 million more than that then fair enough.
Kane has about four years left on his contract.

The thing is though, Havertz is probably one of Europe's hottest prorties and is 20. Kane is 27, increasingly injury prone and looks as if he may have just passed his peak.

Havertz will be doing very very well if he replicates what Kane has done, but the prices are more reflective of where both are at in terms of their careers.

Fair enough Catcher, we all have different opinions (although I don't think you will find many that will agree that 27yr old Kane is only worth £80-£90 million.)
