If people aren’t honestly excited about signing Rodríguez then I’d suggest maybe giving up on football.

Not sure it’s for you.

Of course it’s a risk. We wouldn’t be anywhere near him if it wasn’t. But there is no denying his quality.

He’s been consistent wherever he has played.

"Can you make sure you get everything done for the James Rodriguez signing before you knock off for the holiday?"

"Ohhhhh! Its four o clock already! I've got a BBQ!"

"Fair enough. Im sure no club in literally every other country in Europe where they dont do August Bank Holiday will be interested! Enjoy the weekend!"

Not sure that's how it works...

I don't have a romantic notion of football in that transfers are just between football clubs. Or ignore that Everton is based in UK which at the time of this exchange is a "bank" holiday, it's an unfortunate salient fact

There will be a whole host of other stake holders entirely independent of both clubs and probably football in general who powered off their tablets and smart phones from Thursday evening and said see you next Tuesday!

All enjoying BBQs etc. Indeed, it's exactly how it works.

Ancelloti was on the downward slope. None of the giant clubs wanted him anymore. We gave him a gold crusted retirement package. I hope he's not just relying on old acquaintances from a few seasons back to help us back into the big time!

You seriously think Ancelotti needs the money?

I think you should really pay less heed to the opinions given on talksport

I didn’t see the holy trinity, but I did see Sharp. Yes he did more, but Kanchelskis was just electric. With him and Limpar in the there was excitement. We won the Derby too.
I loved Sharp, he was a superb number nine, one of my favourite players. He’d be drummed out of here now though for not tracking back / pressing etc.

Andrei was one of those rare breed of players were he didn’t care who he played against, in what circumstances, he would take anyone on and enjoy doing it. He was fearless and while everyone knew what he would do, no one could stop it and he would do it again, again and again. Wonderful player.

People forget how low we finished in the league in 95, Andrei the next season dragged us up the league to 6th. One of the biggest travesties in our history was Joe never continuing to build what he started before he resigned.
