The logistics of signing players in the middle of a pandemic are mad. Coupled with that Everton will be wanting to do some sort of insane announcement video so I don’t expect anything imminently. Doesn’t mean it’s fallen through.

Is it? Especially when those clubs tend to play two or three games a week.

In the League over the last 4 seasons he has averaged around 1100 minutes per season. So he certainly hasn't been overplayed yet has continually got injured. If he was getting impact injuries then you could say he has been unfortunate. However, he hasn't he has had a series of muscle injuries and more worryingly ligament problems in his left knee.

If we can keep him fit then he will be a wonderful signing. The thing is though that Madrid and Bayern have two of the best medical teams on the planet, and they haven't managed to keep him fit in less demanding and less physical leagues.

The most sensible thing I think would be a season long loan with an option to buy at the end of it.
