I love you mickI hate a lot of you.
At the highest-earning end of the sports spectrum, Premier League footballers are generally insured by their clubs so that wages can be paid for at least 18 months during a period of injury.
Generally, though, this will not include bonuses - for winning trophies, promotion, individual matches, or even scoring goals.
Typically, individual players take out their own personal insurance which covers loss of income as well as the long-term career risks through serious injury or illness.
Most of these policies would cover up to five times a player's earnings so that a £60,000-a-week player would be insured for £15m.
They do goat. It does seem bizarre but like every insurance company, the payouts will be more than covered by the premiums they get in total.
I had always wondered where a football club stands with players getting injuries.I can’t remember who it was at Burnley (wages aren’t astronomical it the princippe is the same) But definitely covered a long injury.
Lads you probably know by now that I find the financial side of football as full as ditch water, but I had to do a double take when I’d saw you discussing clubs’ insurance policies lolForgive me for not taking Gocompare as gospel regarding Premier League football clubs insurance.
The main reason I suspect it doesn't happen is that NEVER have I seen on any clubs balance sheet "insurance payment".
I mean think about us this season.
Gomes, Gmblammo, Mina, Delph all spent quite a bit of time out the side, those players earn around 300k a week in wages, a months wage is 1.2m, surely somewhere in our accounts it would show it as income, no?
Would you be happy selling Digne this summer and Richarlison next summer ?No sell on value .. nearly 30. Would rather us sign Sangare or Santamaria personally
That's not his point though I don't think.Would you be happy selling Digne this summer and Richarlison next summer ?
I'm stuffed then lol @COYBL25...,..Hard to win arguments with spelling issues
Thats fair, but we currently need someone mature and strong in CM, we have noone. Rolling the dice again could be worth it, or it could end in failure. Right now i think getting in someone like Allan to give our midfield a little more umph is the right thing to do. We have enough young players to sell on for giant fees if thats the only thing we’re going for. Id rather have a team made up of some young diamonds in the rough and some hardened pros. Its something we lack, and its obvious. That's not his point though I don't think.
Having players of the right age who can improve and see their value increase is only a good thing. Signing someone at 30 years of age etc, will not provide us with much or any sell on at all and likely end up in the same boat we are now trying to rid ageing players and big wages.
We have one of the best managers in the world and Allan appears top of his wish list, but you want someone else????No sell on value .. nearly 30. Would rather us sign Sangare or Santamaria personally
