Confirmed Signing Allan

Allan will be on less wages, has got proper CL experience, played in a top league for most of his career, and has played for Brazil. Schneiderlin was a flavour of the month player at Southampton who got a move to United, was quickly dropped when Mourinho came in.

See what you mean in terms of fee and age, but in terms of quality, especially as Ancelotti wants him again, there is a lot more to be happy about with this one I reckon. Think it'll be a much smarter signing.

We actually have quite average If i remmber correctly? We've had three "kids" (i use that term loosely) in Holgate, Davies and DCL as the spine of the team. I think its quite important to get some experience in,especially in the middle of the park.

Anything more than €25m for Allan is probably over the top but he‘s a solid player.

The new transfer policy seems to involve Carlo begging old clubs for cast offs.
What the hell is Brands playing at?
There must be literally hundreds of potential players out there.

It's clear that the Gabriel and Allan situations are annoyingly linked. We give Napoli what they want for Allan, then they get Gabriel. If we hold, we have the chance to get both because Lille can't wait around. The frustration is that we need players in now so they can integrate via a full pre-season.

But I would rather wait and try and get both, than feed our rival and miss out on one of them.

Furthermore, if we know Allan has committed to us, then there is no point commercially, rushing it and hurting us on our other business.

that thread sums up the situation perfectly. This is not straight forward due to the connections between us, Napoli, Lille, Allan & Gabriel.

We agree a fee and buy Allan now, which subsequently leads to Napoli having the money to buy Gabriel from under our noses.

Not an easy decision/ scenario to manage for Brands here. Not his fault either.

Think it’s a case of who buckles first

But surely the player (Gabriel) has the final say regardless, and this indicates that he would prefer Napoli. Otherwise, we could just buy Gabriel now, and then Napoli wouldn't be able to buy him.
