Doesn't matter what we do Matthew.
Spend hundreds of millions and folk will moan we spent it on the wrong players.
Dont spend and we're doomed and folk will moan.
Moderate spend and folk will moan it wasnt enough.

Moan. Moan. Moan.

Everton that
Spending high doesn't guarantee top players as we've seen, but similarly buying cheap doesn't mean much either. All we can do is buy the right players for the manager, whether it be high fee or low fee.

If Carlo wants Allan, we better get him Allan. Its that simple to me.

You have said often that we will spend what we want . Do you still think that. If so what about FFP?
There is also a difference between people moaning and people who are realistic

mate I think we will and they will be ways around it. What I mean is when we have CA as manager and people are saying we’re skint and he can’t get players he will go etc it’s a load of tosh the moaners are moaning at anything ffs

You have said we will be the biggest spenders this window. How do we get to that stage without breaking all the rules.
Why do ya think we have not signed any already?

If Gana was the benchmark, that is about the same figures I believe. Difference for this one is that Allan is not wanted, hopefully he just puts in a transfer request to join Carlo & around £20mil would get it done
I love Gana but I'd have been just as concerned if we were paying 30m to buy him last summer.

If Ancelotti wants Allan that’s good enough for me. I want Carlo to get the players in he wants, just leave the negotiations to Brands. I’ve lost a lot of faith in Brands with last summer’s transfer business.

This transfer saga is making me think Allan is all schneiderlin

Allan will be on less wages, has got proper CL experience, played in a top league for most of his career, and has played for Brazil. Schneiderlin was a flavour of the month player at Southampton who got a move to United, was quickly dropped when Mourinho came in.

See what you mean in terms of fee and age, but in terms of quality, especially as Ancelotti wants him again, there is a lot more to be happy about with this one I reckon. Think it'll be a much smarter signing.
