Confirmed Signing Allan

No, he wants us to build a team that can compete in 2023.

Its a great idea and if we were a MLS franchise it might just work.

But a team who shares a City with a team who has just won everything? Waiting 3 years to compete? Nope, it will never catch on.

Im not saying he's wrong, its probably the easier way, but its pretty impossible to achieve.
I will be drawing my pension by time this project is done by the sounds.

The problem is we all know as soon as a player get to CL level he will get taken by a bigger club and then we are back to square one.
There isn't a way to avoid that is there? As far as I can tell that happens to everyone aside from Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern for the most part, and even Thiago has said he wants out of Bayern. I'd rather have good players who leave because they're really good then never have them in the first place. I loved Lukaku and I love Richarlison too.

Thats where many will disagree.

Silva, Willian and possibly Allan improve this team, I mean I cant claim to have seen Allan so cant be sure.

But you seem to think we are a million miles away from competing.

I strongly disagree.

And I also disagree that signing World Class players doesn't improve us enough.

When you look in the dugout.

If you take our squad, add those three to it, and add on top of that a half decent RB and another CM just for fun, do you think we are as good as any of the teams that figure to finish top 4 that aren't Leicester? For me Carlo or not in the dugout, we're still easily behind them. So imo, not enough.

My feeling is we do it the hard way or we don't do it at all. I can't see a plausible scenario where we establish ourselves as a top notch club without building up to it or Usmanov bankrolling us City style. Or I guess the other clubs making a Super League and us not being invited.

No offence mate but Leicester don't have wall to wall talent in that squad, they have a wonderful goalscorer and a very good CM, the rest are bang average.

So you think Carlo cant attract the class of players he wants and is used to working with ?
Honestly no. I think that there is a lot that goes into it beside the manager and we don't compete currently on money, prestige, access to European competitions, exposure or basically anything else that matters to players. We're a second rate option at the moment. It's unfortunate.

No you are right there is no avoiding it, and I don't even mind buying or having young players, but I will not begrudge us Allan or one or two other older heads so we don't keep losing half our team once we get close to winning something.

I honestly cannot stand the never ending five-year plan. Can you not see that it never gets us anywhere at all? This mad belief that if you take it slowly and wait for 25 years then it will all eventually come together!

He makes sense for me as if the manager wants him will already kno the manager and will have a key role here, we could also add soumare. Delph was meant to add experience here but hopefully allan could also looks he can be played as both a cdm and cm box to box which is what we need

It's the price for me. Delph (pretend he's good for a minute) at 8m as an older head to push us up a notch immediately is fine but Allan at 30m to do it I don't like. He's an alright player in a vacuum but we don't live in a vacuum unfortunately.

But my point is that Leicester have proven it could be done, almost, nearly.
And we proved that too in 2014. But actually sustaining it requires more. At that point we didn't have any money so it was harder.

At the risk of sounding very Davek, Martinez understood our predicament better than anyone at the club that I can remember. He wanted to buy and nourish young players as much as he possibly could while keeping the squad functioning in the short term with cheaper buys. It's just that at that point he didn't have the funds to really make it work and he was also a disaster tactically.

With a World Class manager that works with the best...and the best costs money.

He didnt come here to mess about in mid table with with 2nd rate players.

If you cant see that this conversation ends here mate.

Yeah i think we will get him for less think between 20-25 which will be a good deal
