They have far, far superior players to us, currently. They may be in desperate need of new additions, but so are we.

Therefore, this will require another top drawer tactical effort from Ancelotti to get a result from.

A point would certainly keep us in the race for Europa. I didn't want us anywhere near that competition this season, for good reason and feel completely vindicated on that now. However, with new additions and with Ancelotti in, I think it could be worth sneaking in to for next season. European football, with the draw of Ancelotti would have us shopping in an upgraded market, surely.

That said, there would be very real positives to missing out on Europa as well, so if we lost tomorrow, there'd be little reason to feel too frustrated.

Last season we were close to nicking a win until little arms did his party trick of missing a half decent effort on goal. I would prefer Dier in midfield only because he may be slower than Gomes and Sig so evens it up

Some Stats about game

Spurs have lost just three of their 27 Premier League home games against Everton (W16 D8), and are unbeaten in their last 10 against them. Those three defeats came in three consecutive campaigns between 2006-07 and 2008-09

Everton are winless in their last 14 Premier League meetings with Tottenham (D7 L7) since a 2-1 win in December 2012 at Goodison Park.

Tottenham’s current 14 game unbeaten run against Everton is their joint longest run without defeat against a specific opponent in the Premier League (also 14 games against Sunderland between 2010 – 2017 and Swansea City between 2011 – 2018).

Everton are looking to win back-to-back Premier League away games for the first time since September 2016. However, the Toffees have lost 77 of their 155 Premier League games in London (49.7%), with only Newcastle losing more such away games in the competition (79).
[These 2 away wins are the 2 ive said many times-West Brom and the Lukaku Hattrick at sunderland

Since Carlo Ancelotti’s first game in charge of Everton on Boxing Day, only Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City have earned more Premier League points than the Toffees (25 – W7 D4 L3).

Tottenham boss José Mourinho has never lost a home game against Everton in his career, winning seven and drawing two of his nine games. He’s only faced Manchester United more often at home without defeat in his managerial career (10).

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has scored twice in each of this last four Premier League games against Everton – no player has ever scored 2+ goals in five consecutive games against an opponent in the competition.

Tottenham’s Harry Kane has scored 199 goals in 346 games in all competitions at club level in his career (five for Leyton Orient, nine for Millwall, two for Leicester and 183 for Tottenham).

Everton’s Tom Davies could make his 100th Premier League appearance in this game. At just 22 years and 6 days on the day of the game, he’d be the second youngest player to reach 100 Premier League games for the Toffees, after Michael Ball in December 2000 (21y 68d).

When Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min combined for Spurs’ consolation goal away at Sheffield United it was the 20th time they had combined for a Premier League goal, only the 12th duo to do so in Premier League history and the third for Spurs, along with Teddy Sheringham and Darren Anderton (27 goals) and Kane and Christian Eriksen (21).

I think we need to win to have any chance of europe. I can’t see anyone dropping enough points from the top 6 plus Leicester. We have to finish ahead of one of Arsenal or Spurs to make it and Arsenal are currently racking up the wins.

Tottenham fans really aren’t confident about this one but I can’t help feeling it’ll be another ‘typical Everton’ performance at a supposed top side.
