ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

It’s interesting that the neutrals would all choose City over the RS for the title - City are an oil money club buying success so on paper should be hated more, but most people don’t mind them, appreciate how they play, and realise that LFC are a stain on the face of English football, and more so, their horrid fanbase.

Yes all good points, that big defensive signing Koulibaly has to be secured but it would potentially make a massive difference, more so in the second half of the season as defence, as with all other areas of the team, improves as players become more familiar with each others strengths and shortcomings.

I wouldn't write off United tbh, after all the hilarity of his roller coaster start with fortunes rising and falling like a big dipper on a fairground, Sjolskaer seems to now be getting an awful lot right imo so while I probably wouldn't put them down as definite challengers, I wouldn't be amazed if it turned out that way. De Gea needs binning and they're looking at getting Henderson back apparently.

United and Chelsea the big question marks are their managers. The squads look quite impressive. Wolves too you know, if they keep adding players, I still feel they are a bit off though.

As for City, to me Laporte and Van Dijk were the best 2 defenders in the league, by some way. We don't know how he will recover from this injury, but if gets back to his pre injury levels, next to Koulibaly makes them absolutely rock solid.

I think most people realise that City won the lottery with their owners and they haven't yet gained the bellend glory hunters as a rule and can see that the fans there are enjoying their good fortune after years of general crappiness whilst remaining pretty well grounded over the last few seasons. I could live with a fan on an opposing team's forum writing the same about us in 5-10 years time!

It is odd but just shows how detestable the club is, they think everyone hates them because of their football when its far far more than that. I had a teams meeting earlier which included a Geordie, a Hammer and an Arsenal fan, all expressed there despair at them winning the title.

It was the most fitting ending possible.

They win it with a game they’re not playing in, in a ground with no fans.
The game in question is screened by BT which completely ruined Sky’s planned frotfest.
The aftermath is just a load of their old has beens eulogising about Herr Klopp whilst mullered.
No trophy lift, no fans present, no parade, no one aside from them really gave a monkey’s.

Lovely stuff.

At lunchtime today there was no less than 9 (yes nine!) different articles about them on the BBC home page. That's the home page, not the sports pages! Nothing like a balanced, objective, licence fee paid for public broadcaster....

There was a “scathing attack” on bbc lunchtime news. After showing numerous clips of them celebrating with no masks or social distancing.

Cut to the reporter who comments ”they were told to celebrate at home by the council” “they didn’t”

Cut back to numerous clips of the orcs celebrating.

This all after a report on the idiots at Bournemouth beach yesterday.

*special dispensation fc strikes again.

Yep, I had a wry smile when I woke this morning and read they’d won it

Announcing that the city's civic buildings would be lit red for a week to celebrate the club's achievement, a council spokesman urged "ecstatic fans to try and maintain social distancing guidance to prevent the spread of coronavirus".

For a second, I thought of blood and that it was to commemorate the dead, and anyone who may yet sadly fall ill and die because of their "celebration"

Football must trump such other, trivial matters, of course.

Shankly's words take on an entirely different and eerie meaning in this context.
