You expect a bit more bang for your buck at 27m. Can take into age different country etc. But we've had zilch for 27m. I wonder how many other clubs would have paid that. Not many i bet. Wasted so much money from koeman onwards.

I think most teams in the prem would have paid that really given his rep, but most couldn't take the risk or were not looking for a striker. Can't think of many teams who bought a striker last summer in the prem tbh.

Not convinced about that. Most teams wouldnt have paid 28m for iwobi. Most teams wouldnt have paid 50m for sigurdsson. No team would have paid 28m for bolasi. The list goes on. We've paid way over the odds the last few years on to many.

All the rest yeah, but kean was very highly rated across Europe, those 3 weren't rated outside of Swansea.

Based on his reputation, I was surprised we got him so cheap, he was touted as one of the top young talents in the world.

Thinking back, that probably should have set alarm bells ringing at the time!

He may have had a good rep. Tbh ive sinced looked at what hes done and an argument could be put up that he's been hyped up to quickly before actualy doing anything. But thats happened before and its not his fault others do that. Im also wondering if anyone was fighting us at the time at 27m. Plus add ons.
Lets see next season. Im an Evertonian. I wont every signing to work if it can. But i'll also comment if we get nothing for our money. And we're doing a very good job at that since koeman.

I honestly don’t get how our fans are already on his back. Give him the game time DCL got at the same age over a number of games and seasons and then judge him. It’s almost impossible to judge him so far . What I’ve seen is a kid with strength, clearly has skills and definitely enough pace. Give him the opportunity DCL got and we’ll start to see what he is made of. But instead he’s given 5 minutes to do what?

Can people please remember back to this time last year.
We had DCL who couldn’t hit a barn door, Toshun who could but only in lower leagues and Niasse as strikers.
We needed a striker, we spent £28 mill on one who was scoring in Serie A.

Now because DCL has been transformed and Richie has become a striker the lad bought to score goals is given a free pass for doing absolutely nothing other than bang a few strippers during lockdown!

Or maybe he at least deserves the amount of time DCL - who was missing cow's arses with banjos for a couple of seasons - had to get it right?

I don't really have an opinion one way or another, just going to call it a settling in season. I don't want him shipped out just yet, way too early. You don't have that much hype without showing something somewhere along the line.

Can't believe anyone was expecting a Football manager style wonderkid to come in and start banging in goals for fun, we got lucky with Rom now everyone is expecting that. You don't get a proven finished article for £27m anymore, you get a project and that's unfortunately how football is, not many boss slotters about.
As said above, what's he gonna do in 5 minutes here and there? Just gotta hope he stays humble and waits for his chance whilst working on his game with one of the world's great coaches and Carlo working on him and we end up with a top striker.

I have faith in this lad.
By the end of next season I'm sure that the archives will prove an embarrassment to some.
Hopefully I'll be the only one retrieving this particular post
