The outcome of City's case certainly will be interesting. But my understanding is that City haven't been charged with agreeing a deal that has somehow been calculated as being above an arbitrary 'market value'. They have instead been charged with fraudulent accounting; with income that was purported to have come from Etihad Airlines actually coming from the owner's pocket?
IMO, there's no way that UEFA can calculate an arbitrary figure of 'market value' for each club and then disallow a club from obtaining a better deal in the real-life market place. Say NEC expressed an interest in sponsoring Everton again, are we expected to believe that UEFA are the ones who decide how much they are allowed to pay?
If blue chip companies want to sponsor an ever present Premier League football club, then they can expect to pay blue chip rates, and it won't be for UEFA to do the negotiations.
Problem is its if they can link USM to Everton's ownership as being a conflict of interest- Moshiri is still chairman of the USM holding group so I assume its dodgy ground.
Best just waiting bud - we are in a good position at present, owners willing to invest, a new stadium that revenue wise will boost us, revenue from USM & naming rights deal that even Spurs are struggling to get legitimately.
We aint catching the top 6 revenue wise but aslong as we can increase it to being clear "7th best of the rest" we have a manager in Ancelotti who is good enough to have us competing providing that clown Brands recruits well enough.
I'll be waiting until the naming rights is announced before judging if its enough for us to complete.
