Usmanov

The outcome of City's case certainly will be interesting. But my understanding is that City haven't been charged with agreeing a deal that has somehow been calculated as being above an arbitrary 'market value'. They have instead been charged with fraudulent accounting; with income that was purported to have come from Etihad Airlines actually coming from the owner's pocket?

IMO, there's no way that UEFA can calculate an arbitrary figure of 'market value' for each club and then disallow a club from obtaining a better deal in the real-life market place. Say NEC expressed an interest in sponsoring Everton again, are we expected to believe that UEFA are the ones who decide how much they are allowed to pay?

If blue chip companies want to sponsor an ever present Premier League football club, then they can expect to pay blue chip rates, and it won't be for UEFA to do the negotiations.

Problem is its if they can link USM to Everton's ownership as being a conflict of interest- Moshiri is still chairman of the USM holding group so I assume its dodgy ground.

Best just waiting bud - we are in a good position at present, owners willing to invest, a new stadium that revenue wise will boost us, revenue from USM & naming rights deal that even Spurs are struggling to get legitimately.

We aint catching the top 6 revenue wise but aslong as we can increase it to being clear "7th best of the rest" we have a manager in Ancelotti who is good enough to have us competing providing that clown Brands recruits well enough.

I'll be waiting until the naming rights is announced before judging if its enough for us to complete.

Fair enough mate.

I just think Moshiri was right to laugh in the face of Panorama when they were trying to make some kind of newsworthy connection between him and Usmanov. He literally came out of the Park End laughing his head off, and said to the reporter "If I lend you a fiver to buy a pencil case, who owns the pencil case?". He wasn't remotely bothered and nor should he be.

The truth is that Usmanov has 100% voting rights in USM, which is the company that ultimately owns all of his other multibillion pound companies, including a 56% controlling interest in Megafon.

There's been no kick-back from the training ground deals etc because they're totally legitimate, as would a shirt sponsorship have been, and as will the stadium sponsorship be if he chooses to sponsor us.

Abramovic Not messing around this summer, looking to sign Werner Havertz and the poorer Tory Leighton Baines.

While we play financial detectives in hope we can believe that he’s involved in Everton so we don’t have sit the realisation our majority shareholder is about 12-14 on the chairman rich list and Bill Kenwright 20 years has still got his egotistical paws all over our once great club.

Quicker everyone wakes up the better

Our owners will put more of there own personal money in Everton this summer than Abramovich will put into his club.

Chelsea, by signing Werner, have still not used up all of the £65 million profit they have made this year.

Chelsea are richer and a bigger club than Everton.

The whole Usmanov thing will rumble on until the stadium gets completed.

I just find it easier to assume that Moshiri regards us as his own project, with a bit of help from Usmanov, but it goes no further than that.

Due to the connection between them, people will always assume Moshiri is a stalking horse for Usmanov, and that only increased after Usmanov disposed of his Arsenal shareholding.

What hasn't helped are the occasional comments from Usmanov, suggesting he is imminently ready to step in and take over, more or less.

If they were going to test FFP, you don't push thse boundaries by agreeing a £25m sponsorship deal with USM / Megafon. It would have to be much more explicit, and obvious than that.

I certainly can't see us breaking spending records anytime soon. If anything, with a PP decision expected and in the current environment, it will be a focus on targeted signings with the lure of Ancelotti a selling point.

Don't want us to break spending records without first being in a position to be able to attract players that are worthy of breaking records for. No idea why some people are absolutely obsessed with the idea that we throw hundreds of millions around every year like it's some sort of statement. We've been doing it for years and get laughed at because of it, it's led to us making losses of over £100m while having a worse team to show for it. I'd much rather we become a self-sufficient and well run club before we start trying to pretend we have financial muscle that we don't.

wakes up to what? Moshiri is trying to make things happen for us, it takes time and they’res hiccups Aswell.

bigger For now yes, but IF usmanov is on board or even funding us then NO they arent. When we are successful again we will bigger than them again

In all fairness mate, Usmanov funding us doesn't just mean we're a bigger club than them. Until we're more successful than them, then we aren't a bigger club. They've won more major trophies in the last 20 years than we have in our entire history.

no mate I know they’re bigger, what I’m saying is IF usmanov is funding us, we’re richer, and when we are successful again we will be bigger
