Computer games.

Yeah it's very strange. They have just announced large losses for the last financial quarter so maybe they're scrambling around trying to make some of that back.
Unless something has changed in the licensing, don't see why they'd bother? Name has been in the game for years, so would surely get thrown straight out otherwise?

I play a lot of GT online and can’t complain about the input lag and I’ve won a fair few races just using the DS4. I’m around 1.00 - 2.5 seconds off the best lap times. The TV I have now is a 2018 Panasonic which I think was about £700 new that I got a couple of months ago on a clearance deal so it’s a mid level TV and won’t be changing it any time soon.

My previous TV was a Sony 4K and had awful input lag to the point where the sound was out of sync with the picture and made RDR2 unplayable so I know what you’re on about but the game mode is good on my new TV.

Come to think of it I’ve also maxed my 500GB hard drive and have to delete things whenever there’s a big update which is frustrating. I might take the plunge as just noticed the Pro is 1TB.
GT sport penalty system is pathetic, you can get bumped off track and YOU get the collision penalty.

They must get it wrong 9 times out of 10.

It is. I used to love playing it but you’ll have a few good races and increase your DR/SR, then one idiot at the start of a 10 lap race will smash in to you, you drop to the last, get reset for going so far off track and get a penalty. No fun.

I’ve been tempted to try the FIA races but you need to practice a lot to even be competitive in daily races.

Is it not a zero blame system where both drivers get penalised for any contact ? I thought they copied it from iRacing as it's the only semi effective way to police anything without live admins.

It is impossible to create a system which can effectively assign fault for contact, even if they could people could exploit it so easily... you could just constantly brake check someone behind you and have them collect collisions/incidents etc from going into the back of you.

It's been discussed in massive detail in the sim racing community for years and the overall view is that a zero blame system which punishes both people for contact is the only way any such system can work.

Unfortunately not. They trust the game to dish out penalties whichof course it seldom works, and quite often (even if guilty) the penalty doesn't fit the crime.

EG: a car is breaking into a tight corner, the car behind nudges them because they missed their own breaking point sending them off into the gravel, a good 5/6 seconds delay, the guilty car? 1 second penalty. Other times you can brush cars on the straight and get a 2/3 second penalty.

Even worse is if your following close behind a group who are in a tight race, they colide, spin, you collect one or both of them, YOU get the penalty for causing the accident.

The trouble is as your 'sporting rating' drops because of penalties you are grouped in other races with people of a similar rating, generally a gang of dive bombing bells.

It's frustrating. I'm off for a cry.
