At last a reasoned argument against me. So how long do we stay in lockdown. That's the big question. The economy will crash and that's no good for anyone

That's a loaded question, the obvious answer is as long as necessary howver we both know that entails starvation, further disease due to lack of medical care etc.
I know for a fact that herd immunity isn't the cure with a mutating virus which is what you seem to be insinuating.
I know folk who have lost loved ones to this (2 people to be precise and one of them was 36 years old with no know illness), they could have been saved if others have adhered to advised protocols.
Belittling this pandemic does no one any favors and just makes you look heartless, mate. This is why you know have a thread taking umbrage with your position.

The league looks like it is extremely likely to resume with games being played at neutral venues.

I wonder what order the fixtures will resume?

Is there still a chance they will win the league against us, but it will be held at St James Park or wherever?
I can't think of any practical reason why we shouldn't resume from where we left off, neutral ground or not. If the fixtures were rearranged it'd be
very suss if Liverpool's next match after it's first win was against Everton.

But wasn't that exactly the case just before the crisis started? We had the thread discussing the possibility of them winning it at Goodison?

It all seems a long time ago, but didn't they need two wins to seal it? I'm pretty sure they did.

Yes I've just checked it. Reds on 82 points and City can get to 87.

The one thing I do understand is the loss of a loved one. I've said before it is a personal tragedy. But people die all the time. Even if I lay there dying of this covid I would say it doesn't effect the majority of people especially the younger people so should they be locked down
I’ve just read through this thread and it’s apparent that you’re either as thick as mince and you actually don’t understand what lockdown is all about in terms of transmission rates, or you’re just some self centred ring piece who thinks he can dispel the tragic loss of front line NHS and care workers by suggesting they were all carrying a few pounds.

Either way you’re an absolute helmet.

There’s been multiple players testing positive in Germany and they’re miles ahead of us. That feels like a PR stunt from them to be honest ‘look we were the only nation to get football back’. If it’s based on safety of players and fans then no football happens. If it’s based on financial self interest then it will start back up under any circumstance. 100s will be dying, players won’t want to play, yet we’ll see football matches happen supported by front line medical staff with hundreds of people crowded outside the stadium whilst a pandemic rages on. That is what the government and football authorities are condoning though. Money before health when it comes to football.
I see 4 Samp players in Italy tested positive too . Madness

Its crazy alright, we have the highest death rate in EU and we’re thinking of relaxing the lockdown and brining footie back. Pfft. Good luck to anyone who goes out there thinking its sound. 600+ deaths a day and 30k total means i’ll be taking my chances at home.
Its madness mate. Numbers are dropping here in Ireland daily but they have released a 5 stage plan from the 18th May which stretches out till end of the summer. Football or sporting events wasn't even mentioned on it!!

won't get involved in name calling such as helmet or ring piece,. Very 70s by the way just because someone has a different viewpoint. If as you say you read all my posts you will know I said I was against lockdown. Obviously the lockdown was to stop the NHS from bring overwhelmed which at this point in time it has. So you can argue lockdown has worked. Some countries such as Sweden went the other way with no lockdown and expected their residents to behave in a responsible way. Lockdown has happened. But we should now be coming out of it because for the vast majority they will not be affected. We may have more cases but hopefully with this app and more measures which this Tory government was criminal for not introducing at the outbreak. Aus and NZ for example introduced 14 days self isoltion. It was in the paper the other day that out of 1.5 million people who arrived back in the UK about 300 were isolated. These were the ones at arrowe park.We could shield the approx 1.8 million vulnerable people who can take social responsibility for themselves as well so they are not on complete lockdown. The others can get back.to work we need to get the economy back to generate the money for the NHS, pensions etc
Certain groups of people are more susceptible to the virus. Men, ethnic minorities obese. Someone said about the NHS staff I was wrong and I did apologise for saying if you look at some of the pictures they were obese. That was totally wrong but many will have had underlying issues because the ONS day that 95% of the people who have tragically died had underlying issues I also praised the tremendous work of the NHS staff. And also the great care staff who are paid a pittance who get no sickness pay who are very.much on the front line now.
