Liverpool and Chelsea want Women’s Super League season abandoned over player safety concerns

Liverpool would be relegated if the season were cancelled and decided by points per game

Liverpool would be relegated if the season were cancelled and decided by points per game

Liverpool and Chelsea are among a number of Women’s Super League teams who do not want the season to resume over fears that it would endanger player safety. Their club representatives will relay this information to the Football Association this week.
Chelsea sit second in the table, a point behind Manchester City but with a game in hand. Liverpool are bottom of the league, with six points from 14 games. If the season were decided on points per game, and with the one usual relegation spot, Chelsea would win the title, while Liverpool would be relegated to the part-time Championship.

lol

Furlougherpool FCs hypocrisy knows no bounds, but then this shouldn't surprise anyone.

The so called "festival of footy" is a complete shambles - 5 subs a match, wear masks, sanitise everything , players from the same team change separately, no relegations - yes thanks, that's just what I want to see personally, what a treat that will be for the senses, thank you for saving my sanity, oh premier league overlords.

If the prem continue to spout the integrity of the game crap for the men's game, after the slabbers asking for the women's game to be null and voided, we know what motives are truly driving the agenda.

And sorry, for any kopite lurkers knocking about, this isn't about the "* title" (cos that's all that matters obvs) - read this slowly so as to comprehend - football should only return, as it was before, with normal venues for home teams, with their fans in attendance, when it is safe for us all ( players/staff/fans/emergency services) to do so.

There is a clear way that doesn’t have knock on effects though, it’s null and void but nobody will stick their neck out and say it.

Finish it as Points Per Game and keep the structure across all divisions - relegation, promotion, title winners.

End of the day any club that wants to kick up a fuss can go to court because it'll all be down to money. But the league should compensate them

Again not all teams will have played against all the top teams and some will have played more away games than others so it isn’t an equal way to end it.

You ok there Ollie Holt?

PPG isn't a fair solution - it another rigged deck, as bad a suggestion as fezzy of football, neutral venues, no fans in the ground etc.

If the men don't do exactly the same as the women its sexist

There is - the FA need the FA Cup to be finished to receive their TV payout. I read the other day they had set an August date for the final, but the likelihood is that the quarter finals onwards will all be played at Wembley in a tournament format.
There isn't though.

Nobody is talking about how we need to finish the FA cup, all the talk is about the league and we all know why that is.
