Former Everton Centre Forward Duncan Ferguson steps into management.....

Proper Babycham football going on mate.

The footballing gods are shining down their B&Q torch on us and the battery power is looking good.

It's football paradise at Mill Farm. When football historians look back at the great teams then I don't think it's unfair to say we're better than 50s Real Madrid, 70s Brazil, 80's Everton, 00/10's Barca.

AFC Fylde vs Maidstone United
5th September 2026

Duncan Ferguson reiterated in his pre-match interview that all the hard work early on will be undone if Fylde hit another mid-season slump similar to last season. Against Maidstone Fylde were straight out the blocks and after 15 minutes Mick Wisdom was striking another free-kick into the bottom corner. Maidstone tried to limit the space Fylde had to play in but you have to be quick to stop Henderson when he gets on the ball, the winger creating space for the shot outside the box but his shot went wide. Josh Ferguson should have made it two 5 minutes later after O'Neill helped the ball on to the attacking midfielder but Turner managed to turn his shot round the post. Maidstone were reduced to ten men when Wetherall received his second yellow card and it made the game easier for Fylde, Ryan East had been impressive in midfield this season and he got an assist for Wright-Phillips who beat the offside trap to get the second goal of the game. Mick Wisdom almost made it 3 with 5 minutes to go when his powering header from the corner went over the bar. The supporters sounded their applause for another good performance from The Coasters.

Hereford vs AFC Fylde
12th September 2026

=hereford result.webp

A tough away fixture to Hereford and you would expect Fylde to be in for a tough game. Whether at Mill Farm or Edgar Street, there was no stopping Tyrone O'Neill in his current form, Wright-Phillips delivered the early cross and O'Neill powered it past Sondergaard on 9 minutes to give Fylde an early away lead. O'Neill came close to a second when Wright-Phillips got to the byline and crossed but O'Neill's header was saved at close range. The football being played was breathtaking. Josh Ferguson, Wright-Phillips supplying great balls into the box, Henderson waiting on the edge of the box when his shot smashed against the post. Ryan East won the ball back for Fylde and launched a quick attack, Wright-Phillips played it forward for O'Neill and Henderson, O'Neill left it for Henderson and he slotted to make it 2-0. Mick Wisdom has been hitting great free-kicks this season, this time he found Paul Townsend at the back post to head in to make it three. An incredible performance from The Coasters who many thought would find it tough today. Hereford's Mulryan hit an optimistic free-kick straight at Hadler but the keeper fumbled and the ball went over the line, it looked dubious but the goal was given. Replays later showed the ball had crossed the line but it was too late for Hereford to make a late comeback and Fylde took all the points once again.

LEAGUE TABLE

Its a magnificent start for Fylde in this season's National League maintaining a 100% record. The football on display has been free-flowing and brilliant to watch. The fans are in high spirits but we all know it can turn around any moment in football.

This is all too good. Seven points clear and unbeaten.

When is the virtual pandemic going to strike and the league gets canned?

Is right Dunc but if it does @cronullasharks and the boys will be down to sort you out.

I don't think dunc and the players will dare take the foot off the pedal this year knowing a small but loyal mob of (admittedly cowardly) rabble rousers will call them out and threaten trouble (with no intention of following through)

but following through is what we’re best at remember @maccavennie after his “dodgy” Guinness in the away end at Telford?

i’ve never seen a stand or bowels empty so quickly.
