A Walsh XI. He spent a whopping £187m on the below players. Astonishing.

Stekelenberg
Martina Keane Williams Mangala
Schneiderlin Klaassen Sigurdsson
Bolasie Tosun Sandro

£187 million plus the wages of some that we can't get rid of, the effects of Walsh and Koeman are still being felt, they would of destroyed this club given anymore money and time

That team would teeter on relegation for years before going down unceremoniously. How did it nearly cost £200m?!

Should be Koeman versus Brands, seeing as Koemaegeddon bought most of the trash in his period here.

Regardless of whether Koeman wanted the players or not, Steve Walsh bought them all because he was director of football. That is the end of it.
Steve Walsh was defo the one signing off on the deals no doubt about that even if Koeman did pick most of the players, there were those pics of Walsh meeting other DoF's/Chief Exec's that summer in all the papers and online looking like he was having a right jolly round europe

Can you imagine Deulofeu after the coronavirus? It doesn't bear thinking about. I hope ol' paper lungs stays safe.
Always thought this was a weird stance by a portion of the fanbase.

Even if he's quality for 60 minutes, it's till more than Walcott, Bolasie, Vlasic, Lookman and Kev contributed for 90 percent of matches when Koeman and Sam were here.

Even now, we could have Geri on the right or left get we have Walcott and Iwobi. I quite like Iwobi but he's an inferior player to Deulofeu in my view.

I actually think Walsh is a bit unfairly maligned. It seems clear he was not behind many of the signings made during his tenure as 'director of football.' They should have just named him chief scout. He was over promoted, but it did make him a useful fall guy for any feck ups.

Most of the fanbase were a little shocked that Martinez dropped him for Aaron Lennon tho.

Then Koeman dropped him, then Milan dropped him, there must surely be a reason that manager after manager dropped him from the side time and time again.
