, so many scumbags with a vested interest that they can't possibly give it up and just accept they'll have to wait it out because football is bottom of the list of priorities right now.
It's not even just those who are involved in football in the financial sense, but there's too many fans who are happy to put their own gratification at the top of the pile.

"We need to get back to normal!" I agree: like children going to school; factories and industries open again; people not dying in their hundreds each day!

Football is not a priority and certainly isn't the barometer of what normality should or shouldn't be. I'd much rather watch people not having to queue up to shop.

PL footballers may be paid an awful lot, however I don't want to risk their lives and the others involved in the club for my own simple 90 mins of pleasure.

If there is a serious risk to their lives and it's not essential work, it shouldn't be taking place. The people who do are grotesque, selfish and egotistical bellends.

Agree completely, although with that said it would be interesting to watch a game with everything that's going on to see whether players stop the theatrics so as not to keep having medical staff come onto the pitch, I reckon it'd cut out a whole load of play acting.

I mean that as an experiment, I've got no actual desire to see football played before more important things can return to normal.

A line midway down is concerning:

"I think we need to look at options about what games absolutely need to be played."

Imho that can only mean the two games Tory FC need to win.

Correct answer is " no bloody games need to be played, it's football, it's a GAME!"

Football should only come back, as it was before, at all the normal grounds, when it is safe for all people, including players, fans, staff etc, or it simply isn't an option.

The media can go on about this all they want. They can say the club's are all for it and hype it up beyond belief but it all falls apart the second they ask the player's. Not only do they have to convince hundreds of multi-millionaire player's and managers that they have to risk their lives and that of their families but they also have to convince the agents of said players and managers to! LMFAO, what an absolute farce!

All the teams in and around the relegation places will kick off big time if only two/three games are played before the plug gets pulled! Not a cats chance in hell the teams who are in the bottom three at that point are going to go along with that scenario!

Exactly. It's like saying "Hey, Villa, we know you've got some massive fixtures coming up that would normally see you gain a huge home advantage over your closest relegation rivals, but we want you to forfeit that and just play all your games at St James Park so that Liverpool can win their league title."

Kin idiots. Get it called off.

But I am honestly starting to think that this is actually the game plan. Play the exact number of required games for them to get the 6 points (probably 3 games for them at the most) then call the whole thing off and basically say 'hands up guys - we got it wrong! Really sorry, We tried but it's not working. We will reverse the decision'
Mission Accomplished...

I hope I'm not the only one who heard Savage on radio 5 just now.
Giving it the "let's get the season finished, even if we get to October"

Then, when asked if he was still playing now, would he feel safe to play considering he was a family man..

And hearing him stumble and bumble and admit he wouldn't play !
Priceless.

It won’t happen. It’s political suicide for any government to sanction testing for footballers when they can’t even test front line nhs workers.... it’s a non starter.
