Spot on this, always thought this was the case, having Alonso behind behind him gave meelar the licence to do the showing off while another midfielder did the work. He then got lucky with the transition to 'quarterback', a phrase that still grinds my gears. The evidence was clear when Gerrard was often found wanting in the England setup. Don't get me wrong, good player, but only one of those two was ever world class, and it wasn't the DJ battering snide.

I’m utterly utterly convinced that a very high majority of them numbskulls on RAWK and who dwell on every post about us and other teams on social media, have never step foot in Anfield much less the city of Liverpool

Of course they haven't that's what annoys me so much about them, I can tolerate only just the RS who go the match, but the ones who just sit in the pub and talk nonsense can eff right off. But the worst RS are the ones from well outside of Merseyside, who think they are Scousers, even the local RS hate them. Look at that bellend from Copa 90 David Vujanic, he's an ethnic Serb from Croatia, who was raised in North London, naturally supports Liverpool, makes perfect sense. It's one thing for somebody to support a club like Everton, Newcastle, West Ham if they don't come from the areas where those teams play, but to just support teams like United or Liverpool is disgraceful.

Maybe, but dietmar hamman pretty much single handedly won them the champions league in 2005, so he has to be worth a shout
