of course it's not, but the barman is going to ask the publican for his wages, publicans forced to closed are going to try to demand money from the insurers, the Insurance industry are going to try to claim from the state & the state is probably going to look for a bailout at special rates from the IMF etc etc

sadly the small guy & the publican will have no chance & I am not in anyway suggesting TV will get their money back from the PL, but I have no doubt that they will at least seek to have a judgement if they feel they have even a small chance of a case
Clubs will do the financial equivalent of pulling out the linings out of their trouser pockets and say, sorry sky, we're skint.
What will they do? sue them into bankruptcy and kill the golden egg laying goose for the next season...whenever that will be.

There is and can be no short term fix or plan, because nobody knows how to properly define short term.
All seasons will end up staggered to match the stupid Jan World Cup, then unstagger for the next 2 seasons.
See you in Aug 2025...if we're lucky

just to clarify. The Premier League is not in charge. The FA is not in charge. FIFA is not in charge.
The virus is running things at the moment, and nothing is going to happen unless it says it can. 2 weeks, 1 month or 1 year; we can set al the deadline dates we want, but covid19 will say when.

Yup. And let’s not forgot that employers have a legal obligation to put the health and safety of staff first. If there is any risk of players or staff being infected then it is unconscionable to play games even behind closed doors.

Anyone think that all these ideas are leaking to make it look like they are doing everything they can to fulfill the fixtures before saying the season is effectively curtailed.

It could be. Trying to show good faith about completing contract with an eye on the legal stuff. But privately surely they know the jig is up. Could call it phoney but if it saves them hundreds of millions of pounds I'm sure they would be happy to play along
