Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Eight West Ham players are apparently showing signs of the virus. Can't help feel cynical when reading about that. Can see it happening a lot to be honest. Every time it gets close to announcing the season is close to starting, certain clubs will start claiming their players have symptoms.

Players will be dying soon just to spite them I suppose. Probably infecting themselves on purpose to get the league cancelled.

Anyway that's the rat who was spreading lies on here about Everton fans and Hillsborough.

Nice to see he is still posting on there with impunity, sums up that fanbase.

Ashamed of nothing, offended by everything.

Bad pube him. Needs a good kicking the weasel

Thought this was very interesting. Pure analysis of the facts by a disinterested party. It's mainly about Sky money etc but also contains this phrase -

“The hypothesis informing governments assumes an initial three-month long lockdown,” said Enders Analysis, which published the report. “Group activities of 25 people involving close physical contact without protection will not plausibly be the first to be allowed when when some social life resumes.”

Which is interesting amidst all the talk of playing behind closed doors being an easy way to restart things asap. As I say, it's mere analysis, not public health policy or anything.

The head of UEFA said European football leagues were still looking at all options and not ruling out finishing this season - if the coronavirus pandemic subsides.

"We could start again in mid-May, in June or even late June," Aleksander Ceferin told Italy's La Repubblica daily.

Any time after that and "the season will probably be lost," he said.

Read earlier that should the leagues be void, the FA's could put their European participants for next season – therefore allowing them to keep the league standings in tact, without handing out a title.

That would be incredible patter for Big Red. No title but everyone else gets what they've achieved.
