He defo went to the Collegiate, yes. As did Royle....I think Labone went to the Collegiate on Shaw Street, so that ties in with Everton, unless somebody says different.

Actually, there was only one other player who went to the Collegiate and played for Everton: Jack Balmer...in the 1930s!
