Nevilles Comments

With what?

If thats in relation to comments the Clubs captain makes, then I suggest you're on the wrong forum.

Bit of a mountain out of a mole hill IMO. You'd hope he wasnt a regular figure by next season, he's getting old, and he's hasnt moved and wont look like moving now.

He could say he was overjoyed by a offer from the RS but IMO he's in his twilight of his career and not going anyway so he can say all he wants.

There are a number of factors here i'm struggling to comprehend

1.Neville being wanted, he is an average player, who has provided little in the way of technical ability, maybe some leadership.
2.Him referring to Redknapp as if it's Jose Mourihno
3.Him being wanted by Tottenham
4.The fact he has come out with these comments now

Stuff like these Neville comments dont help either. Seriously - if you're captain is saying he or other players would be within their rights to put a transfer request in, what does that do for morale in the squad?

The Skipper's post match interview: "We've got confidence going to Chelsea and there's no better way of getting our season back on track"

*points*

Indeed. Really, really poor from Nev

Richard Gough is my most unpopular captain EVER.

He actually did give post match interviews in the third person; "Yes that's right, Goughie just tried to help youngsters like Richard Dunne and Michael Ball in today's game, giving them an example of how to create time and space to operate in. If Richard Gough can help bring on young talent like this then I'm glad to lend a hand. If that get's Goughie another man of the match award, he's honoured".

wonder why? moyes talked about himself in the third person recently - does that make him a self publicist? a bizarrre one even by your standards, gough played very well for everton. his worst crime was to appear as a guest pundit for the cis final the other year looking like he had a lions mane instead of his usual staid hair cut.

as for the nev, think about what you say ffs!

He played ok, no more than that, IMO. The plaudits he got were way OTT.

It had to be seen in the context of the time: Everton were in 'claw back the money invested' mode (nothing changes!) and a Smith bargain bin signing was always going to be bigged up by the local press doing the Everton board's bidding for them (nothing changes again!). "Imperious display" "majestic performance", "our MOM by a distance again!".

Toe curling stuff. He had a very high opinion of himself.

smiths policy was reduced to going to dennis roach and seeing who he had over 30 years of age. it got silly and counterproductive. but gough played really well for everton there is no way you can take that away from him, and he was a total leader.

I have just had a breather outside in the fresh air.

I've just decided - YES. Neville should be fined for those comments.

He should just get on with playing.

He could have been doing this in the Champions League. Thank the Lord the Pointmeister chose us.

"Phil Neville does NOT point for any club other than Everton - period" - Phil Neville (13/2/11)

Maybe he can become a traffic cop once he hangs up his boots. He's overdue.

I am a fan of Neville and I think he is a good professional, but I do wish he would keep his mouth closed when not on the pitch or training ground. Moyes needs to have a serious word with him........
