The season always has and always should start in August
Why?
The season always has and always should start in August
Haven't spotted it yet, I've been a kip.
I'm not swerving any question. My argument is that it's in the interests of fairness and the sport to finish the current season for all clubs, when it's safe to do so. The argument for voiding it appears to be based on the agenda's of certain clubs who've not had a particularly good year for whatever reason, but very few are clear on that and are actually citing concerns over scheduling and contract expirations - which is absolute guff.
Also, It's your assertion that finishing this season in the summer would permanently affect the state of the PL, not mine. Starting now, within 2 years either side of this World Cup, with some minor adjustments to the schedule, it would exceptionally easy to return to the leagues current Aug-May schedule. Again, we assume that's really important that it runs in those months, it may not be all that vital. Why couldn't the league run October - July or November - August for a few years, how would that impact the rest of the sport, assuming it was a co-ordinated effort (which it will be).
Why?
I backed a horse once 25 lengths clear and guess what......They are 25 points clear. They have won it

Minor adjustments to get an Oct-July season back to Aug-May? How do you come to that conclusion?
It’s also vital our season runs alongside the other major leagues due to European competitions and the qualifying rounds for those. You can’t have some leagues postpone and some void it would be a nightmare.
English football can afford to lose one season from the record books for the sake of keeping the sport normal going forwards.

Have they? Think your maths may be wrong. Sorry if it disappoints you but the shoite aren’t champions. They are 25 points clear. They have won it
Why shouldn’t it?
Well it's a delay of 3 months. You could gradually move the seasons back 1 month per year and the maximum timeframe for a return to an Aug-May season would be 3 years. It's not rocket science and it's something that absolutely could be accomodated.
Your 2nd point, any decision the Prem takes will be advised by UEFA too and, more than likely, mirrored with other leagues, I'd be very surprised if that wasn't the case.
To your 3rd point, why is it so important that the league season runs Aug-May? If all European leagues were happy with an Oct-Jul season, what would be the consequence of that?
Clever.
Well you're the one putting the barrier up here and saying that the next season MUST run from Aug-May.
It's a simple question, why is it so imperative that it does?
Or does it just suit your agenda for it to do so....?
Thought about it a bit more now.
To get the season to a conclusion we have Liverpool play City in a two leg playoff to be crowned champions.
After city, the next 8 teams have a playoff for the champions league places and the losers play off for the Europa league.
Same for relegation
How is that fair, Matty?
Teams like Bournemouth and Villa go down when they've got a strong chance of staying up. Sheffield United miss out on Europe despite spending most of the season there and despite other teams having played a game more than them. Atalanta, RB Leipzig don't get their chance to compete in the last 8 of the Champions League. Leeds don't come back up after 16 years away from the Prem. Plus the obvious one.....
It's wholly unfair, and against the interests of the majority of clubs, if leagues are voided, which is why it won't happen. Any decision taken by UEFA and the various FA's will be taken after consultation with their member clubs.
