Honestly mate, it's just a messy thing. We are obviosly sitting here chatting about footy but it's really insignificant in the grand scheme of things. No situation is fair on everyone but mine, to me, is the most fair. Sheff Utd could drop right off in the next 10 games and finish 10th.

Awarding them the title will complete the season and the teams will sanction it.

If you give Liverpool the title, surely then you have to promote and relegate everyone in their current positions. Being objective that would be incredibly unfair to the likes of Villa and Bournemouth. I can still see them doing that rather than voiding the season though, the higher ups will do everything in their power to ensure they get awarded that title.

I’m sorry Jeff, I assumed you’d detected the sarcasm there. To clarify, I’m not actually a Liverpool fan. I generally don’t answer that question if asked on here, largely because it deviates the conversation OT, but also because it suggests someone’s views can more credible / discredited based on their assigned alliegances.

If you awarded the current league positions as the final ones it would cause mayhem at the bottom end of the league.

you’d have clubs arguing that their fixtures in the run in are easier than others and they would have got out - essentially they’d be arguing that the competition is unfair because of a fixture lottery

The sensible thing would be cancel this season, and no European comps next season to avoid drama about who should and shouldnt be in it. No promotion, no relegation, no European spots. Just start again.

If you have put the financial future of your club at risk by spending hundreds of millions hoping to get a prize, tough. Manage your club better next year.
