So will our game be April 6th?
No. Prior to April 3rd the FA will reconvene and determine if it's possible to re-start the season that coming weekend. The current postponement is until "at least April 3rd". All it will take it for another few players or staff to get the virus and it's off again, no questions asked.

They can’t honour one team’s position in the league and not honour others. Can’t declare a league winner but then not declare who is relegated CL etc. Either the whole thing is finished and counts or it’s voided. There’s no in between without massive legal suits.

This is absolutely the case. The PL seem completely out of their depth. There is no easy solution to this, and none that will be painless and without legal challenge. I also have no doubt they will try to bend over backwards for Liverpool as they have always done (and why they were trying everything, even at the risk to acute threat to human life) to get the league played this week.

However the last few days have been a real watershed moment. I think the craven selfishness of most Liverpool fans and the cowardice and incompetency of the PL have really been shown very clearly. If they have behaved with a modicum of decency over recent times, they may have made some allies. As it is they will have very few.

What they don't seem to realise, is that there will be precedent set if they award them the title that they cannot sustain. The moment a title is awarded, presumably relegation will have to follow. The net result will be Bournemouth rightly saying, how can you relegate us, on goal difference part way through a season. Most courts (who they will appeal to) will side with them. Thats because legally it's by far and away the most sensible option. They may choose to go down that path (though it's very naive) but don't rule out a court subsequently ruling against this action of the PL and it then being stripped (even if it's not done directly via Bournemouth). That is then a much bigger headache and will open up enormous litigation opportunities.

If you were advising the PL you really would state you do not want to open that can of worms. There are obviously issues that willa rise from the EFL if you do this. I'm not saying they won't consider doing it, but it's very problematic, and could cause major litigation. If their advisors have any sense they'd argue against it.

I have to say as well, the behaviour of Liverpool fans will probably work against them in this. There are already talks of them rioting and attacking property and individuals if this goes ahead. This will not strengthen their case, it will make them look unreasonable to the PL, further lose them any kind of allies they have with other clubs (make it harder for the sycophantic media to defend them etc). If they had any sense they would be keeping quiet, letting the situation play out and trying to garner some sympathy and support by behaving with a degree of dignity. Acknowledging this goes beyond football, and that has to be the first priority. If they did that, then maybe some clubs might revisit it, and perhaps make a bespoke arrangement for them, not PL champions but an acknowledgement for their efforts.

Alternatively they should now probably be lobbying for a sort of mini-competition (similar to super league). If they were smart thats what they would be saying. We can't finish the season, but maybe we have an 8 team competition at the top (like quarter finals) to decide who wins it. And a 6 team one off games for relegation at the bottom. It would be very hard to sell to the bottom 6, who would all reject it but may win some support from the other sides at the top end of the league. Rather than just being expected to be handed a title they haven't earned, this would be a far better course of action for them to pursue.

They won't though.
