What would need to happen though is that the PFA and LMA would have to get it's members to agree for contracts to be frozen momentarily so that clubs who have players at the end of their deals don't get shafted by those players leaving

Training is for sharpness and drills for most players. Fitness is the responsibility of the player.
Footballer fitness is quite a bit different to your average lard arse doing a 45 minute spin class unfortunately.
