Apparently there is a meeting of all Premierleague clubs to discuss the potential to cancel all gameweek 30 games.

With the RS out of the Champions League I wonder how Klopp will spin his usual fixture list pileup bollox.

If all remaining games do eventually get played then the only advantage I can see if that Liverpool will potentially win the league before we have to play them and take their foot off the peddle with nothing to play for.

What do you mean can't complete the fixtures? Ever? This will cause a temporary delay of a few months. It's not going to prevent any Football being played again, ever.

The season will be postponed, not cancelled. Most other big european leagues will take the same approach. The Euro's will be pushed to 2021, leaving the summer months free to complete the remaining fixtures.

This has the added bonus of allowing the players more time off for rest, season 20/21 will likely start later, perhaps in October / November rather than August as usual - this could also allow subsequent seasons to start later / finish earlier, allowing the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to run in winter as planned, with minimal disruption to domestic seasons.
That's written in language of someone with a vested interest in what happens. The bulk of clubs I am sure would happily vote to have all league's declared void and they should be given the opportunity to do so. Don't forget it is very likely many families will be mourning deaths of relatives etc. Clubs need to declare a season end allowing them to send players on 'holiday' thus reducing wage bills and taking strain off their finances. This argument is not so much about the mega rich but the fundamental clubs, most live hand to mouth.
We still have the Olympics to consider, African Cup of Nations and many other worldwide sporting events will all demand players. Don't forget there is no guarantee that this virus will have cleaned itself out by Oct, Nov or Dec.
Lets not become luddite like we should simply declare all leagues void for this season without any further prevarication, proactive make more sense than the inertia presently displayed. It is unbloodybelieveably stupid wanting to put our sport before peoples lives, anyone who thinks otherwise needs looking at.

They are screaming now on rawk that they should be rewarded the title of the league is scrapped

But just think of that nice, big, juicy asterisk staring back at them and making them fume forever. Better than them not getting it, in my book. They can't complain about injustice, no lawsuits, no rampaging sense of victimhood.... but everybody would know they didn't really win it and it'll drive them nuts forever.

Yes. I'm a bad man.

Yep,this is my view. Award them the league title, but instead of getting the Trophy for the cabinet, they get some type of bespoke certificate.

Plan for WC year was to start 21/22 season early to get through a chunk of the season before stopping end Nov for 6 weeks and re-starting in Jan 22 after WC. Pushing 19/20 into summer, delaying start of 20/21 would mean running straight from delayed 20/21 into early start 21/22 with no break at all.

Cut losses, cancel and start again August. Peak is predicted May but there will still be huge numbers in June/July if that is accurate. It is only a game, why the 'must finish at all costs' attitude?
