He has said he'd have left if Moyes didn't reject the offer;
The Tottenham thing didn’t get close because Everton said ‘no’

He has said he had the right to kick off and demand a move.
I could have kicked off about it

He said other players would have demanded a move.
I could have kicked off about it - and many players would have. I know that other players would have put in a transfer request or thrown their toys out of their pram

He then off his own bat, implied it would be naïve to not want to move from Everton.
“You can call it naïve. I’d like to think I am clever and sensible"

That, from a Club captain. That, from Phil Neville.

Nail on head, as per usual.

He's a rat. I hate saying it about a current Everton player but he is. Thankfully we'll only have another year of him - hopefully just a few more months actually.

He is right though isn't he

If everton had accepted the offer then he'd have had every right to go, they didn't so he didn't.
He could have forced a move through, he didn't
Others would have forced a move, and have
Some people probably do think think he is naive, at his age he is unlikely to get another chance at CL at Everton and would have been paid more at Spurs

Good on you Phil. You are in my first eleven at right back every week. Better than Hibboand better at RB than Seamus.

He respects Everton decision making
Everton said ‘no’ and I respected that decision.

He thinks it an honour that Moyes rates him so highly
It was an unbelievable honour that David Moyes was never going to let me go.

He is loyal to the club
I have principles and loyalty is perhaps the biggest of those principles

HE IS CLEVER AND SENSIBLE!!!
I am clever and sensible

When I see quotes like this I just dont understand what you guys look for in a footballer, I have stated this for a long time now.

Phil Neville as a leader is very good he can organise a team all day long, but as a footballer he is dire and I mean technically not very good at all. He is OK definsively but some of you guys make out he is brilliant defensively which he is not, I would play Seamus at RB before Phil every single time, I would also much rather Heitinga there than him sitting on the bench when Jags is back in.

So we disagree then.

For goodness sake Neville. Just shut up. Talk about fanning unneeded flames.

And as for Tottenham, they've got about 6 right backs haven't they?

I wonder if Neville will be saying this sort of thing come the summer, when Everton get the investment and a stadium capacity increase incoming thats been drastically needed.

Then we'll see who's doing who a favour.

ive heard a slightly differnt version of that statement ,out of f/farm top and bottom of the saga is nev was well up for the move moyse said no deal at the figures at that nev flew off the handle foned his dad to sort it as we all know no spurs would not go any higher .

am sure lcab must have some in put here

He'll be too old to benefit from that (y)

He hasn't actually talked about himself in the third person yet dave, you just reckon that he will soon. Just letting you know so you don't have it in your memory as 'that self-promoting **** Neville talking about himself in the third person again'.

Phil Neville agrees wholeheartedly with this post. Phil Neville has not - repeat NOT - spoken in the third person to Phil''s knowledge. He uses, at worst, first person participant only. Phil Neville thanks you for this support
