Spurs

Spurs really are the great pretenders of English football. Hyped up to the max, but deliver very little silverware.

During my period as a football fan (83/84 onwards) we've lifted more trophies than they have. They've twice fought for the title in that time, 84/85 with us and 2015/16 with Leicester and ended up third on both occasions.

Just a couple of league titles in their entire history is extremely poor for a supposed giant of the English game but I've no doubt they'll continue to get hype and tons of media coverage.

They did give me one of the favorite ever days as a blue. They day we destroyed the 'dream final'.

It was one of mine too, but to be fair to Spurs, it was the media rather than them as a club which was putting out the 'dream final' line at the time.

That was by far the best performance by any Everton side in 1990s imo. It could easily been 8 or 9-1 such was our dominance. Can't believe it's nearly 25 years ago mate!

Ha ha. That start date worked out well for you. If only you had started from 80-81.

Even using your start date I make it 4 trophies each?

Good job it wasn't Siggurdson. We'd still be waiting for his Icelandic fury to get to the advertising hoarding let alone over it and into the mix.

I dunno. Once a geyser gets going it's unstoppable. I don't fancy the wife being sprayed by hot liquid in Row F. No offence.

Fair enough. I forgot about the ECWC.

But whatever, it's all academic. Let's be honest, since the end of the 80s THFC and EFC have been fighting over the scraps.

Hardly a [Poor language removed] swinging contest.

Nope. If this was 1989 we could perhaps. As much as I wish it was, it isn't.

Always got to hope it will turn around though. One day. The life of a football fan.

Better than most. Least you had those inter/Ajax games in the CL.

A trophy or two would have been nice over the years but some of those European games both home and away have been absolutely brilliant. I've got some amazing memories supporting Spurs. Too many to mention.

Wouldn't change a thing (well maybe the final vs the RS).

We all want to change that result in the final. Such a shame as they didn't really turn up that night. Just got to hope there is another chance.
