I love him, there are very few players I'd say that about, but I LOVE him, ya hurrd?

[whispers]We seem to win most games he doesn't play in though.[/whispers]

*runs off*

I'd be gutted if he left only because we can't offer him the contract he deserves. Especially after we've broken the bank to keep Arteta.

Twitter tells me this morning, that to fend off interest from Chelsea, we are offering the big man a new deal.....a wonderfully reliable source of Sportingo....Either way, I do hope we are

The towering midfielder is coveted by the Premier League champions who see him as an ideal addition to their physically imposing yet technical gifted squad with question marks over the form of John Obi Mikel and Michael Essien this season. The 23-year-old fits the preferred age group of new arrivals at Stamford Bridge and has proven himself to be perfectly suited to the rigours of the English top flight since his £15m move from Standard Liege two-and-a-half years ago.
Such is his importance to Everton that they are preparing to offer him terms similar to that of Mikel Arteta who became the highest earner at Goodison Park when he penned a new deal last summer. The Toffees have made a habit of acquiring players cheaply and selling them on for a considerable profit in recent years - such as Joleon Lescott and Wayne Rooney, sold for £22m and £26m respectively – but the margin on Fellaini would be less dramatic given the price they paid for him in the first place.
Having recently lost the services of Steven Pienaar to Tottenham for a paltry £2.5m as his contract was due to expire at the end of the season, Everton will be desperate not to see that happen again and if the Belgium international refuses to sign on the dotted line, he could be sold sooner rather than later in order to receive the largest possible transfer fee.

Can picture it....

Felli contracts talks go on for ages, he wants more money we cant give, team comes in...we fend them off and eventually sell a few days before the window closes.

Gets labelled a snide by fans

Don't know for certain, but he seems to ooze a bit more class than that...depends on his agent though... :o(

the more likely scenario is felaini stays and has a £90mil get out clause written into his contract

At this precise moment in time, Fellaini is too good for us and from a career perspective signing a new contract with us might be a foolish move for him in all honesty. The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, United and Man City would all find a place for him in their midfield and he'll be in a position of great power this summer when Everton realise they have to get him to sign a new contract or sell him. No way can we afford to let him run hios contract down to the last 12 months a la Pienaar - we made a £15m investment in him and we will need to recoup that money (ideally with a big profit on top). I hope he stays and we can build our team around him and Rodwell for the next 5 years but I have serious doubts as to whether that will happen. Shame, he's our best player currently.

Would not like to see him somewhere odious like Chelsea or Man City. Can't we at least flog him off out of the country or to Man Utd for cash and a player.
