I noticed nobody could suggest a figure of how many appearances are needed before we can make an assessment. Personally I think we’re well past the point of still assessing him. As for calls to start him more, that’s incredible. If you can’t contribute anything, even with cameo appearances then you need to be dropped from the squad to make way for someone who might. This guy needs loaning out.

One goal though. No one can accuse him of failing to find the back of the net. :coffee:

this is silly. Dcl took 3 season. This instant success or sell mentality is just knee jerk out of proportion.

I wouldn't be looking to keep him. DCL and Richarlison have cemented their places. We should be looking at, in my opinion, an older striker to add to the squad who is happy to rotate in and out of the team. Somebody in the ilk of Llorente when he went to Spurs or (obviously not the same quality) Ibrahimovic when he went to United. And no, not like when we signed Rooney as he was already long-finished by then, even if he did grab a hat trick against an awful West Ham for us. Somebody like that would offer so, so much more than Kean. They don't need to be 27, 28, 29. We could get a 32-year-old on a two-year deal and it could be an inspired signing. Surely one of the u23 lads (Simms?) should be breaking through as well, even if it's just as a bench option.

The problem with patience is that Ancelotti is only here definitely for 4 years and there is no guarantee when he leaves that we will replace him with anyone near as good and could well end up with another Silva/Koeman/Martinez etc etc.

No point persisting with players not good enough currently and finishing 8-11th every season with a world class manager when we should be signing proven players for the manager to win us a few trophies/ qualify for Europe & CL.

This fanbase has been patient for 25 years - about time we started actually competing again.
