Hopefully, id be surprised though. if i was negotiating with us as a sponsor i would think of a jump form 9 - 40 mill is huge in the space of a few months, i can see an increase alright i just personally think it will be in around the 15 mill mark. We've traditionally had a poor profile in this market, i just dont see that changing so suddenly and drastically, likely over a period of years and deals. Just my opinion, hope you are right though.

Agreed
Ancelotti,new stadium,Ricarlison Brazils No 9,its different now.
Plus I will not be surprised if there is something dodgy in the background to max the sponsorship
If its NEC then their recent dealings with USM will come into play.
All NEC have to say is ,we were very happy in the past and now we wish to re engage
No one seen the option to bid coming and this will be the same.
DBB mentioned SportsPesa and wanting to change at the AGM .
This is a while in the planning.
You do not publicly say you are unhappy with your sponsor without a new deal lined up

Hopefully you have the right of it mate, it would be a huge revenue booster, just my opinion is all, id be surprised if it was a huge deal. That said ive doubted the club before, just before the AGM and they pulled out the USM thing from no where, so my logic probably cant be trusted. :)

I think people need to dislocate the idea of what a fan is to actual fans and what a fan is in terms of business.

Commercially, we are nowhere near the top 4 globally. I’d say we are behind liverpool, United, Arsenal, city, Chelsea and spurs in that regard (which from a FPP/sponsorship perspective is all that matters).

The game has changed whether we as fans like it or not. History doesn’t matter commercially.
I think the point was though that it wasn't that long ago that we were contemporaries of these big spending clubs so we are making efforts to get back to where we were, not like a Johnny come lately splurging the cash in an effort to attain those levels for the first time.

This rings true. Experience of living in Leeds for years has shown me very few Evertonians passing through on business or as students and even the local Leeds fans do not regard Everton as a "big" club. There might be respect there, but no acceptance of Everton being near the top table.
It's hard to recognise what the top table is when you've been booted out of the party and left to scrounge for scraps in the gutters like Leeds have.

Wow, written so well. They should get you involved in the paperwork for the naming rights deal so it's written professionally

I bet you the same people think Leeds are a big club though, even though they've spent half of their entire existence in the second and third tier of football. Their fans are going to be insufferable when they get promoted, mark my words. They'll be like Newcastle on steroids.

I think the view of footballing achievement prior to 1990 is largely airbrushed out. The only football acknowledgements are usually reserved for United winning the European Cup in 1968 and the RS domination of the 70's / 80s. All other acknowledgements relate to the Premier League era. Everything else seems to be overlooked, especially the dominant Everton team of the 80s.
