Agreed! Occasionally, I don't mind a bit of hot English mustard with a pie and it goes well with a roast, but overall it's got to be those two. American isn't allowed.

Wife has made a pan of Scouse today and the house has smelled amazing all afternoon.
Been out in this wind as i have to have proper crusty fresh bread with it.

Can't wait.

This might be a stupid question mate, but what’s a pan of scouse? Being a southern blue I’ve got no idea.
By the way...let us know what the pickled egg is like....I’ve always thought about trying one but never got round to it.

A Stew is how you'd describe it i guess.
My nan used to make an amazing one, the wife uses her recipe i think with a few tweaks.
@larbert toffee sent me a recipe years ago that was also useful.

Ah, I see, thanks mate. You can’t beat a good stew. I’m actually doing one myself today....a beef bourguignon recipe...but ultimately a beef stew with some red wine in it. Been slow cooking it for seven hours so it’s almost ready. Now just got to persuade the wife to make some nice homemade mash to go with it.

Cabbage.
I just don't like beetroot, that's one of the tweaks on the original recipe.
I know this is sacrilegious for some.
