Forget (as you put it) is clearly the wrong word especially considering the well established "Lest We Forget". The media would never criticise Royal British Legion commemorations...they wouldn't cause such offence given the many comparatively younger servicemen and women who have been involved, injured etc and honour their fallen comrades from all conflicts. The
Poppy Industry as you call it raises millions for the work of the British Legion for helping ex service people in need. People don't need to buy one or wear one. I don't think "forgetting" WW1 would solve any of todays problems which I agree are many and complex.
Its such a polarised suggestion with no correlation between the two. However its just my view from a service family and you're entitled to yours.
