The age is a concern but if we could get 3-4 decent years out of him it would be totally worth it,
Davies I don't know what to do with that lad.
Morgan = garbage
Delph can be okay but very inconsistent AND injury prone.
Gomes = Rolls Royce
Gbamin = unknown
This signings feels like Ancelotti is getting someone he has seen and trust to do the job he specifically wants his midfielders to do which our current ones can't which is why this deal might happen.
The manager of the England under 21 team suggested that Tom Davies could play as a defensive midfielder but Marco Silva disagreed and felt that Davies was more an attacking type. I think MS was probably right and Tom Davies has been asked to do a job that doesn't suit him.
Let's wait until central midfield is occupied by players who know how to play that position before we judge anybody was shoved in there just to fill a gap.

I wonder where Iwobi fits into Carlo’s plans? Not played for him yet and would certainly offer more drive/speed/energy in midfield, not sure defensively he’d be up to it against the top teams though? I’d love to see us bring in a right sided player in the mould of Landon Donovan - creative, clever, scores goals and always positive... perhaps a Mertens/Carrasco type?

It's not about where he plays its the footballer himself, He's like a yo-yo. I can't quite work out if he's worth keeping, He looks perfectly fine one game, Next game he looks like belongs to a league one side, Puts in a reasonably good performance one game next game he can't control a ball for his life add to the fact that he doesn't fit a midfield archetype at all it makes things even more confusing on the lad.

Yes, pre Kean we did apparently watch him and were very interested along with Villa and West Ham but he seems to have a bit of an attitude by all accounts, shame as he is a pretty well rounded striker.

Jean-Kevin Augustin's international future with France is in doubt after the RB Leipzig striker sent a text message to under-21 coach Sylvain Ripoll saying he was rejecting a call-up. Augustin was excluded from the squad a year ago after a heated exchange during a game with Ripoll. He returned in March and scored twice in UEFA Under-21 Euro 2019 qualifying wins over Kazakhstan and Montenegro, and was selected for upcoming games against Bulgaria and Luxembourg.

However, Ripoll told L'Equipe former Paris Saint-Germain forward sent him a text message on Sunday, the day before he was due to report, saying he would not be coming, claiming "muscle fatigue" meant he could not play.

"I take note and I will draw the necessary sporting conclusions, they're not acceptable excuses," Ripoll said. "It doesn't fit with the attitude I want to give this team. I have repeated from the start that I want to go forward with players who want to be here, who have the desire to commit themselves to the national team."

Augustin scored his second goal in as many Bundesliga games in Leipzig's 1-1 draw with Fortuna Dusseldorf on Sunday. France are 11 points clear in their group and on the verge of qualifying for a U21 Euro for the first time since 2006.Should Ripoll successfully qualify for the tournament, Augustin will most likely have to watch his former teammates from the sidelines.

Ripoll said that in the wake of Adrien Rabiot's decision to reject the chance to be on standby for France's World Cup squad, he is not worried Augustin will not be the only one to take such a move. "I'm just saying he told me of his decision, that's his choice, and I don't think the reasons are acceptable," Ripoll said. "I just take note. I'll draw conclusions from there. We'll see what happens. I haven't really analysed that. I'm focused on the days to come."
