One game a week now until season end, so no more tinkering needed as long as the team is winning.
Next week's xi against West Ham. Any changes in bold with reasoning.
Pickford
Sidibe
Holgate
Mina - Keane was a bag of nerves as usual first half and even though he improved, he's just not good enough
Digne
Walcott
Davies
Sigurdsson
Bernard
Richarlison
Calvert-Lewin
Obviously, and this is including Gomes and Gbamin returning, a creative midfielder, a centre back and a top winger short of being a good side. If Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin can improve further they can be 10-15 goal strikers in this league, but we desperately need goals from elsewhere on the field.
Since the end of October, we've only had four players get on the scoresheet who are not Richarlison or Calvert-Lewin:
Tosun in the 1-1 against Spurs; Holgate in the 2-0 against Watford; Davies in the 2-1 against Southampton; and Keane in the 5-2 against Liverpool.
It's just nowhere near good enough. Look at the goals from midfield: Delph has played 12 times, scored zero. Sigurdsson 21 games, 1 goal. Iwobi 16 games, 1 goal. Schneiderlin 11 games, 0 goals. Bernard 13 games, 2 goals. Gomes 8 games, 0 goals. Davies 16 games, 1 goal, Walcott 15 games, 0 goals.
That's collectively 112 appearances across the season and 5 goals from midfield. Disgusting. Those players cost more than 150m pounds.
