Looks like this week's training has mostly been about keeping it on the deck into the opposition half, therefore no surprise Bernard has been the standout player in that half.

Not a fantastic half but we were the better team and deserve to be ahead. Want them to come out in the 2nd half and really go for it and show the supporters what it means to be wearing an Everton shirt. More goals in this for us if we give it a good go.

My worry is that that half may have been more about Brighton being poor than us being good. They will come out like a different team in the second half, so we’ll need to be ready to cope with that, which we often haven’t been able to do this year.

Not a bad man out there today, we've played very well. Bernard is a class above and another couple of top players alongside him would make him look even more fantastic. Sidibe wasteful so far but still likely to provide a good cross at some point.

Deservedly ahead at the break, Bernard is terrorising them when he gets on the ball, Richy’s goal was beautiful. Quite how VAR didn’t give us a pen I don’t know as had the pull not happened then Theo would have easily scored
